Thandie is BLACK…just perhaps is kind of Bohemian. But I do agree that they could use a comb and fresh braids!

  • Maryamb says:

I am a mother of three girls and I personally think that her choosing to spend time with her babies is more important than her combing their hair. We need to stop focusing on the little picture and focus on what more important.

  • erin says:

Thandie is half african and her husband is white.

  • Amy says:

Yeah, the focus should be on what’s important. HER CHILDREN’S APPEARANCE! I agree with the other post, Thandi doesn’t walk around looking like that! I don’t care how much white is in their blood, they have black people’s hair! COMB IT!

  • Evie says:

saquita i think the girls are gorgeous….why should they do anything with their hair….also as if braids arent tacky enough..because she’s half white anyway, as she grows up, blackening up herself, like with braids, will probably make her more self conscious amongst her white British friends

  • Thandie, I love you Girl! But the kids hair… you must do better. Conditioner and Jell and keep it in a ponytails. I feel you though, my daughter is mixed also and when she was young I cried may days trying to hold her hair in one place. Never really found the solution. At 15, I allowed her to get a relaxer or she would have forced me to hurt her. Worked for the frizzies, but hair is not good condition. Terrible mistake and she sees it also. http://www.itsourrealitymagazine.com

    • Trilby says:

who are you to say that thandie should do better with her children hair. her kids are very beautiful and their hair is the way it should be (NATURAL). take that SAMBO,BRAINWASHED,COLONIZED, AND DOMESTICATED CRAP SOMEWHERE ELSE. LEAVE THANDIE AND HER CHILDREN ALONE!!!!!!!!!

  • etoilee8 says:

Some of you are really mean. They’re children! Their appearance isn’t what’s important at all. So what if their hair is frizzy? No one’s criticizing your child’s appearance on the internet. Some of you guys need to lay off.

  • real says:

wow we black people have enough problems please lets stop the good/bad hair talk. I do think its important for us to represent ourselves neatly in public since we get a bad rap in society- however Thandie is an actress and lives in a different circle of people than most of us do - it’s nice she can just take her kids out like any other normal person.

  • jasmine says:

OMG are your SERIOUS??? they are little kids! who cares what their hair looks like…how superficial! omg, the comments on this site are just scary sometimes!

  • Jessica says:

I think their hair styles are cute, it makes her and her children look natural. Like a real mom, Not one putting them on display and showing them off, but loving them.

  • Nikita says:

Firstly,Thandie Newton is mixed,so to whoever it was that said,”people dont have mixed kids if you cant do their hair” that only shows the beginnings of your ignorance. Her husband is white therefore her children are only 1/4 black.

Anyway, that is besides the point. It irks the hell out of me when people critisise celebs for their lack of concern over their childrens hair. Is the hair on your own childrens head perfect 24/7?

She was at a farmers market, not some celeb red carpet party!
Surely noone goes to the farmers market in their party clothes?

I think its refreshing to see a celebrity and her children more concerned about spending time together and having fun rather than bombarding them with self esteem/body/hair issues at such a young age.

They are little girls at a market with their mum, does it REALLY matter how their hair is styled???

  • Bellazon says:

    Nikita, I 100% co-sign

It a lovely pic of a mum and her daughters enjoying quality time.

  • Ada says:

I AGREE WITH NIKITA AND BELLAZON 200% : THEY ARE CHILDREN…AND BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN AT THAT! STOP RAGGIN’ ABOUT THEIR HAIR! IT WAS PROBABLY A SATURDAY MORNING AT A FARMERS MARKET — A PLACE AND TIME WHERE MOST NORMAL PEOPLE GO SEVERLY “DRESSED DOWN”…. NOT ALL “DOLLED UP” AND SH*T! GET A GRIP SOME OF YOU PEOPLE! BETTER YET, GET A LIFE…

  • Ms. Jessica says:

    they are cute tho

  • Niniini says:

You can tell whose priorities are what is on the outside rather than on the inside in all
these replies…saquita and all the others…boo!
Thandi’s kids look happy and content, which is more than I can say for most
black babies I see on the train in all these expensive clothing and painfully tight
pigtails with sheen in their hair. LET KIDS BE KIDS…They have the rest of their lives
to look pretty. As far as I can see those kids look happy, which is more than I can
say for some children in this country!

  • Lyla says:

People who criticize a childs hair are pathetic! Honestly grow up and get a life, children are messy and care-free, as long as they are happy and well fed who cares what there hair looks like!

  • jessica says:

I think her girls are very pretty ;most black children have coarse hair even though thier mixed, including some of you all on here if you black or mix.

  • Lexie says:

THEIR HAIR IS BEAUTIFUL–IMAGINE WHEN ITS DONE NICE ! OMG THEY ARE CUTE !

  • Nick says:

Thandie is black and so are her kids. Trust me all that 1/2 mess does not matter in the real World. I know because I am a product of a white father and mixed race mother(black & white)but I am black and so is my mother.

I believe in quality time with family. That includes spending quality time to make yourself look presentable. I am a mother. I have 2 girls and a boy and we spend quality time doing all sorts of things including grooming.

No Big Deal all kids are cute.

  • DJ says:

Maybe the babies fuss & cry when they have their hair done. Old folks used to call it “tender-headed”. Mama has a soft heart and can’t bear to make the babies cry, so fuzzy heads but loved a lot, I’m sure.

  • Katze says:

I think they’re beautiful…I cant wait for some just like them!

  • pudminkallb's mommy says:

To everyone who comment that Thandie and her kids are mixed well Black is Black baybee. Thandie may have parents and children of mixed race but they are still black. All hair black, white, bi-racial whatever needs a break from braids ponytails and overall style, we all need a day of rest.Perhaps this is the day of rest day for hair. Perhaps if we weren’t pressing, Dying, and Lying our natural hair all the time we could embrace our NATURAL beauty. And therfore the rest of the world could embrace natural African American beauty also. There is no such thing as “Bad hair” Its all good hair of different textures, colors and lengths.
She looks happy and so do her kids. Nuff Said.

  • Jesyka says:

y’all, did you not read on here that you’re not allowed to call children ugly? saying their hair is bad is basically the same thing. and y’all who keep saying that all black/mixed hair is the same, you’re wrong. i had some mixed friends in school who were sisters. the one had hair like her black father and the other had hair exactly like her white mother. it don’t matter who your parents are. wether you’re white, black, mixed, or what ever. all kids are cute until they hit puberty and turn evil.

  • MoDiva says:

As we can see Thandie, herself isnt dressed to empress in this photo. One bad hair day, give these people a break!! Her babies are beautiful, and so is she.

  • Mandi Walker says:

My son is 1/16 and has very curly hair. The only thing that works for him and me is little sprouts.

  • Rinnie says:

I do agree that it’s nice to just see a celeb out with her kids looking happy and care free; but i do think that she could have done better…honestly I’m not a celeb and I have a mixed daughter puertorican and black and I’ll be damned if I let go out with her hair looking crazy. She know’s that she’s a celeb and that there are going to be ppl out there just taking pics of her n her fam..She dont have to put alot of time into their hair just a nice little ponny tail would sufice as long as it was neat.

  • Rinnie says:

oh and I do think that her children are beautiful…
