    She is cute.

  • Dmarie August 6, 2009 at 3:47 pm

She is pretty she looks just like the D.O.C but wasn’t Erykah dating Common around that time? Could be his baby.

Why do people worry about color so much? And why is it that when a black female has a light skinned or mixed child people have something to say about it and get into DNA, genetics and all that crap. But when a black male has mixed children or brighter skinned kids no one says too much in that area. I don’t understand, you can do what you want, your human..Color is no surprise, heck everybodys been f*cking everyone for centuries anyways. Who cares…

  • Marius October 22, 2008 at 11:39 pm

I am a white man with a black wife and a (BASTARD CHILD) which is mine and I love him. He became a nuclear scientist in 2007. So what about mixing gene’s.

  • Not Buying It August 30, 2008 at 7:03 pm

Btw: the picture of Erykah and her daughter is absolutely precious.

  • Not Buying It August 30, 2008 at 5:39 pm

It’s clear that most people who are proponents of Erykah’s conduct, have fallen victim to the baby-mamma syndrome themselves. Case in point: Zada. You said you have two children from one man, but because you failed to state you were married to that man at the time of conception and birth, chances are you also are a baby mamma.
You know, a great man once said that insanity is the practice of doing something over and over again even though it does not produce favorable results. Baby mammas are insane. We can see how a community filled with bastard children have fared: not good. So I say to Zada, and other similarly minded people, if you’re going to follow your own standards, you might want to try raising the bar instead of lowering it;-)

Not you again! LMAO. Get a life! You seriously need a hobby, girl.

  • eatcrack August 30, 2008 at 4:56 pm

I can’t believe that she had sex with the D.O.C.,, he’s such a nobody!

  • Zada July 15, 2008 at 9:49 pm

I think the picture is innocent. It truly captures an action moment of quality time Us mothers spend with our daughters. From imagination, playing dress-up, to make-up. That’s where the beauty comes in at. As far as who Erykah has choosen to have children with it’s her choice. She’s not the first or last to have mutiple children’s fathers. The hateration comes in because a lot of people have a slave mentality and has allowed the world to set the standards for them. Her decisions does not make her less than a woman it makes her Free to live her life according to how she feels without shame. Realistically her choices is what makes Erykah – who she Is. It’s called Acceptance. She is living her life in accordance to what makes her happy. I commend her for that. Who are others to determine the status bar in life, the do and do not’s? Final Judgement has been reserved for the Lord. Come on people either embrace it or disagree respectfully. There isn’t any Big I’s and Little You’s it’s called Free to be whomever you choose to be. Erykah is “Doing Erykah.” Not that it matters, I have two children by the same man, if I decided to fall in love elsewhere and have another baby with another man I would still be the same God fearing, professional down to earth BeautiFul Sister I am…… Big Up’s to Erykah and the Sister above Priscilla … It’s said that ignorance is a bliss, but actually IT’s SUICIDE…..
    Peace & Love ,

Priscilla, this is the most intellectual humane comment posted yet. This IS a beautiful picture of mother and daughter! I sure hope Erykah doesn’t keep up with posted comments. But if she does, I believe she would look at them as ignorance and insecurites on the behalf of the writers!

I think all of the commentary about skin color is an indication how far we as black people have to go before SKIN color and GENES aren’t an indicator of blackness. Why couldn’t this have been a positive picture of a black woman and her child. Instead, it has turned into a commentary of ghettoism, illegitimate children and how light complexion black children can be created. WE tear ourselves down more than any other race. I commend the people that have looked at this picture of a mother and her child as a beuatiful reflection of how beautiful black women are.

    • kme09 February 22, 2010 at 12:48 am

Until SOCIETY stops “thinking” of the black man/woman as inferior beings for having an abundance of melanin in their skins, you will always witness this almost obsession with skin color in black communities.

Don’t be fooled – the notion that “pale”, “light”, or “yellow” skin in blacks makes them closer to the white race – is an idea that has been with the human race for ages. Many would have you to believe that this is mainly a practice amongst black people. Not true. Many, many whites believe the same and that’s why so many “biracials” find it easier to identify and gain acceptance with them and vice versa. One only needs to turn on the television to see this in action. Or maybe you’ve noticed a certain dynamic in your place of work, school, or some other social setting…

History from modern to ancient times is “littered” with pseudo-scientific racial jargon about the relative blackness of certain groups around the world, and it’s relation to their intelligence, temperament, beauty, and overall value as human beings. Blacks, as virtually all other darker hued human groups, have tragically adapted this pigmentocratic system into their way of thinking. This is responsible for most of the mental angst some folks on this forum are projecting when they see a child of black heritage with so-called “white” characteristics. It is nothing short of internal psychological warfare and they’re not totally to blame.

Until we ALL can start appreciating the inherent beauty that is present within ALL phenotypes things will not ever change.

  • adsfsdf June 24, 2008 at 9:40 pm

Black americans are so racially mixed they don’t know what a real black african looks like. Thats why there are several ignorant comments above from “afrocentrists”.

  • daymar April 21, 2008 at 3:32 pm

Black Wemen are so lucky.. someone knows how a european woman can have a really dark baby? why if an european have a baby with africans these are lighter than those came out with Caribbean’s or african americans, and the first has not a uniform skin

  • Lisa April 21, 2008 at 4:55 am

Y’all need to get over yourselves, no one race was here first and the only way black people can make ‘different’ looking kids is if their heritage is mixed and the genes are carried on. I’ve never seen one blonde haired, blue eyed kid in an African tribe, unless one of the camera men got it on with one of the women.

  • Shorty April 18, 2008 at 9:25 pm
