WESLEY SNIPES SENTENCED FOR TAX EVASION;LEAVES BEHIND WIFE NIKKI AND 5 KIDS
Dad of five, Wesley Snipes, has been sentenced to three years in prison for tax evasion. The actor will leave behind his four children with wife Nikki Nakyung Park(pictured) and one other son from a previous relationship. Although his attorneys fought long and hard, Mr.Snipes received the maximum sentencing for failing to pay $15 million in taxes:
A federal judge on Thursday sentenced the actor Wesley Snipes to three years in prison for willfully failing to file tax returns. Mr. Snipes, who was convicted in February, received one year for each count, to be served consecutively, and an additional year of probation. The sentence was handed down by Judge William Terrell Hodges of Federal District Court.
Mr. Snipes, who apologized for his actions before the sentence was announced, showed no immediate reaction to the verdict.
Judge Hodges allowed Mr. Snipes and a co-defendant, Douglas Rosile, to remain free on bond until they were summoned by either the United States Marshals Service or the Federal Bureau of Prisons.The sentencing came at the end of a daylong hearing in which lawyers for Mr. Snipes argued for leniency while federal prosecutors sought the maximum penalty possible.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

Why wasn”t he given an opportunity to pay on istallments like all American people do when they IOU? If it was govermental official’s they would get away with it by paying it this way.

I see Wesely wants a new trial. He believes it wasn’t fair. I don’t know much about his case but it doesn’t look good. I don’t think he has proof of jury misconduct like his defence claims. But we’ll see. Would like to see his movies make comeback. Underated actor if you ask me.

The Florida Judge, could have given Wesley Snipes , community service probation, that would have been more constructive. Willie Nelson was appreciated more and let off a little easier . I find this hard to swallow, i am pissed off- even Bush wants to make a Sales tax instead of IRS – Mr. Snipes did this not only for himself ,but for you and I – so stand up for Him and ask for a Pardon ! Mr. Snipes is not perfect , but who is ? No one deserves to waste away in Jail – run by Corporations for profit ! May G-D BLess Wesley Snipes and his Family .
Dont feel sorry for Wesley Snipes. He is not exempt from following laws. And it’s not like he didnt have the money he was just greedy and irresponsible and thought he could take advantage of the system just because he is a celebrity=NOT lol lol lol He doesnt need a pardon he needs to sit and think about what he did 3 years is good it will take a nice big BITE out of his pocket just like he tried to do to the system.
