ACTRESS JESSICA ALBA EXPALINS BROWN BABY COMMENT

In the March issue of Latina Magazine, actress Jessica Alba made a comment about her and her husband Cash Warren wanting their unborn child to be “brown”. She said to Latina Magazine:

JA:”I’m excited for my baby to be brown. I just have to believe the dark gene is going to survive. Cash and I are like, please!”

In a recent interview with USAWeekend.com,Jessica explains what she meant by the “brown baby” comment:

UW:You said you can’t wait to meet your brown baby. What do you mean?

JA:I mean my dad is dark-skinned [Mexican], Cash’s daddy is dark-skinned [African-American], and our moms are both white. So there’s a 50-50 chance of our kid coming out dark or light. It would be nice if the daddies can see themselves in our baby.

UW:Do you think, especially after this presidential election, that we won’t be so obsessed with skin color as a nation?

I think my generation is the last generation that sees color. In this next generation coming up, everybody is mixed. And I think with people like Jennifer Lopez and Halle Berry being out there opening movies and having clothing lines and pushing the idea of ideal beauty, [the ideal isn't] Christie Brinkley anymore. You don’t have to look like Barbie.

its wrong for her to say she wishes her daughter would come out looking brown because everyone would be up in arms had she said she wishes the baby would come out looking white so whats the difference? Let the baby come out the way it wants to come out,im so tired people in mixed marriages wishing, hoping the baby would come out this way or that way, ive heard it all my life, wish the baby hair would come out curly or not kinky or light skin, its like accept who you are and want the baby to come out like both of yall

Jessica Alba is a moron. I’m surprised she say something about white women and ‘dark’ men.

  • NOYB February 16, 2011 at 1:41 pm

someone said what about the moms? they never matter if they’re white because this country has no clue about the interesting difference amongst white ppl. we aren’t all just “English” we are from many different amazing interesting DIFFERENT cultures but now were obsessed with thinking only black culture and spanish culture is interesting for some reason just cuz they’re dark. wtf. white ppl have way more differences in culture and looks, they aren’t just blonde, they are redheaded and brunette as well.

If she wanted a brown baby, gettin with a brown/black man might’ve helped…but who am I…just my two cents-or less

Black, white, yellow or green, are there no other Problems on earth than skincolour?!

  • Drea February 8, 2009 at 5:13 pm

I SO agree with her. Everyone will be mixed in the next generation. Hell a lot of us are mixed already. HYBRID POWER! Lol

o! so that baby will be white, hispanic and black. so they will call her multiracial?

  • DINA July 20, 2008 at 3:32 pm

i think she said that because the baby could be black in color, like she said its a 50% chance that it will look like WHAT it is, and that is a fact,
she cant do anything about that! she is ashamed at being latina,
but every time she looks in the mirror that latina is staring back at her!

i think your baby is so cute

  • Jess July 11, 2008 at 3:23 pm

Why are people so fascinated with color she should only be wishing for a healthy baby. Thia is just like saying i wish my baby was light-skinned or blond hair and blue eyes. Stupid girl.

  • CRANBERRY June 20, 2008 at 2:22 am

It would be hilarious if the kid looks darker than the two of them.. LOL

  • eddie June 10, 2008 at 10:23 pm

“it would be nice if the daddies can see themselves in our baby”

    What about the moms?! lol

  • cakepie June 10, 2008 at 2:50 am

Jessica Alba has come a long way, not to long ago she was ahamed of being part hispanic and denied that part of her. Atleast she has mtured and sees now that you don’t have to be shame of what you are. I wish her well.

I don’t think it was anything wrong about what she said and I’m African American. She wants her “brown” color of her father and her father-in-law to come out…..so what? All I’m reading about now is how cute Garcelle Beauvis’ twins are with their light skin and blue eyes…let’s keep it real!!

Jessica Alba’s mother is white and part Danish. The fact that she’s running away from that is seriously screwed up. I wonder if she realizes how closely she’s following the tragic mulatto cliche.
