DALLAS COWBOYS’ DEMARCUS WARE AND WIFE’S STRUGGLE TO CONCEIVE

Wednesday, Jun 18 , 2008 3:56:pm by blackcelebritykids FILED UNDER Celebrity Baby News,SportPlayers

Father’s day this year will have a lasting impression on Dallas Cowboys’ linebacker Demarcus Ware.  The Pro linebacker and his wife Taniqua adopted their three-month old daughter Marley after three failed pregnancies, just in time for fathers’ day.   After the stillbirth of their son Omar Ware in 2006, the Ware’s at one time felt defeated:

“That was the low point,” Taniqua said. “To go to the hospital and give birth and coming home with nothing. You don’t know how to react.“You’re angry, hurt, upset.”
The Ware’s finally decided to adopt this year and with the help of a friend, they were able to welcome daughter Marley, named after Demarcus’ favorite reggae artist Bob Marley, into their home.

The Wares plan to try to conceive again and have talked about becoming foster parents.  In the Meantime, Demarcus and Taniqua are working with a local adoption agency for which Demarcus hopes to become a spokesman.

Mr. and Mrs. Ware – I am so very proud of both of you to make a decision to adopt, because as you both know their are many children out there that can be blessed with a loving, caring, dedicated family like yours. By the way your baby girl is so beautiful just like your wife. I know in my heart you all are going to be excellent parents. The way to go!

      Good Luck and God Bless!

P.S. Don’t listen to none of those nothings out there talkin junk about the color of your baby – whatever color she come out to be she is yours for life!

Excuse me whats with all the colored stuff. U are rude to think black kids, adults or babies are the only ones in need. I’m mixed and people like u (prejudice people) are what gives us kids a hard time. Be happy for them if not don’t comment. They read these comments and will be hurt. Race is not everything, love is and they are happy so your comment is not needed.

Leah your are prejudice and sound rude. If all u see is color u have issues. They are happy and are not concerned with her race so your comment is not needed. I’m mixed and people like you make it hard to grow up and face the world. All races, All children need families not just black! Grow up!

Um…when black or biracial children are born – they’re ethnicity isn’t always obvious. I looked straight up Asian as a baby, and let’s just say – I don’t look Asian now [lolz]. I agree, Black people should stick to adopting other children of color (due to the obvious need in our community). Watch how her looks change as she ages. I’m pretty sure she isn’t white.

too many black children need homes. sends a bad message when black couples of their stature are taking in white children – don’t care what the circumstances are.

Some see a white baby; I see a black or biracial baby. Gee, could it be that none of us are qualified to conclusively determine an infant’s ethnic background from two photographs?

*creepy little kid whispers* I see white babies.

Who cares what race Marley is. They adopted this beautiful baby because she was destined to be their little girl! Instead of asking why didn’t they adopt a black baby (as stated we do not know her race) and making it seem as though they are social misfits why don’t the black fathers who fathered the fatherless stand up and be men, maybe there would not be so many “black” babies who need homes.

Taniqua and Demarcus were very blessed to have such a good friend help them make their dream of becoming parents a REALITY. So instead of judging lets be happy for Taniqua she has overcome 3 miscarriages and through all of that still wanted to become a MOM. I truly wish them all the best and may god continue to bless them and their beautiful little girl.

That is one beatiful baby. Marley will grow up in an environment where love will always be present. She is a bi-racial baby for thoses who do not know. It does not matter if she was from any other race. What matters is how the child will be raised with love. So don’t hate on this child and her family. Rejoice in the fact that she and her parent joyful.

Thanks to those that had nothing but good comments about the family.

    Have a blessed day, Everyone!

incredible…I wonder if the day wil EVER come when race isn’t an issue and doesn’t ruin moments of happiness like the one this family is enjoying. No one knows all the details behind this adoption and the circumstances of why this baby was left parentless…anyways so instead of judging, be happy that a child has a home.

Just so everyone knows Marley is Hispanic!!!! Why does race matter still so much in this country??? We should all be thankful that two loving people with lots of love and stablity have opened their hearts and home to a baby who needed a family! Why does it matter that the parents are one race and the baby another?? LOVE SEES NO COLOR PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

love sees no color-you people are is exactly why this world is like it is today-all you see is color-i’m green, what do you think of me ! Obviously she needed someone to love her, they is why she was up for adoption, get a life,

I’m a black woman and it really pisses me off to see that some of the worst comments come from other blacks. Why are we our own worst enemies? They have a child that they love and they don’t care if she is black, white, hispanic (which she is) or purple. We have a half black president in the White House. Or did we forget that he has a white mother? I would have thought that that alone would show how far as a people, blacks have come. But everytime I think so, along comes a few narrow minded venemous people spewing hatred. If whites can adopt black babies, then why can’t blacks adopt white babies? Or Asian? Or Indian? Get over it. A baby is a baby is a baby. And all those who think there’s something wrong with these two adopting outside of their race, then I hope you never have children of your own because that’s how hatred and bias is created.

    Demarcus and Tanique,
You both are my story. My husband and I had trouble conceiving as well due to several issues (which i will discuss with Taniqua when she calls me tee hee hee) we were offered donor eggs from a donor egg pool in my town. We also chose a young caucasian female’s eggs and now have a beautiful baby boy. He was conceived using my husbands sperm with InVitro Fertilization so I was blessed to be able to carry. I saw your story on E:60 and have been trying to find you ever since. Please Please respond to us as we would love you to meet him and we would love to meet Marley and share stories. You guys are my heros and as everyone has seen in their loving warm comments, love is blind when it comes to color. I know you both love Marley and deifnitely can give her the life she deserves. WE also love our little one and just pray for the nay-sayers and stares. May God bless you and your womb.

To Jazz and Leah it doesnt matter what color the child is. babies are a gift from god and they deserve to be loved and cared for. I mean no one says anything when Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt adopt a black kid or an asian kid. Love sees no color!!! I mean Sandra Bullock adopted her son Louis who is black and he is beautiful. so why cant a black couple adopt a white child or biracial child without it becomming some big contraversial issue.when im older I plan to adopt from ethiopia and india. just be happy for the couple, losing a child is painful enough, they’re just happy to have a baby again.

kiki: you’re wrong. All the time brangelina and madonna rightfully get hate.

How are brangelina, 2 anglos, gonna instill
      Cambodian culture in Maddox ?
      Vietnamese culture in Pax ?
      Ethiopian culture in Zahara ?

How is Madonna gonna instill Malawian culture, foods, language, traditions in her kids?

        @lilkunta

The same can be said about an black American family adopting a baby from Ethopia or another African country. How will they instill the baby’s culture. From what I read, Angelina takes the kids to visit their homelands.

Also, from what I read, infants get adopted quickly regardless of race. People want to adopt an infant, to rise from infancy and up.

It is the older children who have a tougher time getting adopted. Here is where we see black children having a hard time getting adopted.

I am a volunteer/advocate for fost/adopt families and YES adoption is the most precious gift that one can give another, still I’m curious to know why this couple CHOSE a bi-racial child when they’re not. Unless this child will be sheltered, why put a child in the position of explaining all of this? For those of you who have bashed others for the ridicule, here is the deal: studies show that approximately 78% (the percentages are changing as I write this)of the children who are available for adoption are African American Children. The fair-skinned babies with wash and wear hair aren’t on the “available” list for long. In fact, the couples who adopt bi-racial babies actually asked for them.

I think this is the best thing for people who want children and for humanity. We are an extremely overpopulated planet and we should adopt more children instead of adding more humans to our planet. Way to go.

Well it’s certainly different. I wish them all the best, I just wonder why they chose to NOT adopt a child of color, what criteria went into that decision. Sure now they’ll always be stared at but who cares about that anyway.

I say God bless these people & wish them a happy & healthy family! :-)
