RUSSELL SIMMONS’ EXPENSIVE CHILD SUPPORT
TMZ has obtained filed documents in the child custody case of Kimora Lee Simmons and Russell Simmons. The documents which were filed yesterday stipulates a number of conditions to which the respondent Russell Simmons and the Petitioner Kimora Lee Simmons must adhere. In regards to visitation rights,Kimora is allowed sole custody of her two daughters;Russell is allowed reasonable visitation:
VIA COURT-ORDERED DOCUMENTATION:
“Petitioner shall have sole legal custody of the minor children,Ming Lee and Aoki Lee, … sole legal custody means that one parent shall have the right and responsibility to make his decisions relating to the health,education and welfare of a child subject. Petitioner shall reasonably consult with Respondent regarding issues concerning the children’s health,education,and welfare and, if the parents do not agree, Petitioner shall have the sole right and responsibility to make the final decisions regarding the children” and Russell Simmons is allowed “reasonable child visitation … accompanied at all times by the children’s nanny and security personnel.”
The court order also stipulates that “The children shall be with the Respondent every eighth week from Saturday 9:00 a.m. until the following Saturday at 6:0O p.m. In regards to child support,Russell Simmons,the Respondent,”shall pay to Petitioner for child support, Twenty Thousand( $20,000) dollars per month, per child,for a total of Forty Thousand($ 40,000)Dollars per month, payable on the first day of each month, commencing on the first day of July 2008,Child support in the amount of Twenty Thousand($ 20,000) dollars per month per child continues as to each child until a child is emancipated, or reaches the age of nineteen and one half years (July 21, 2019,for Ming Lee,February 16, 2022 for Aoki)”

I guess all this is calculated based on the income of the parent who has to pay….but honestly - Kimora will receive MILLIONS from Russell by the time both kids turn 19. I honestly can’t imagine that all that money will go to their kids and their needs. But maybe I’m wrong. And what kid needs $20,000 a month to live???
Child support is based on the lifestyle the child would have received had the marriage remained intact as well as the supporting parent’s ability to pay. Russell is a multi-millionaire. When he and his wife were marrried, the children lived a certain lifestyle. After divorce the supporting parent must maintain that lifestyle unless he or she can demonstarte that extenuating circumstances exist which demand a lesser amount in support payments. I don’t think Russell cares too much how much the court orders him to pay, as it is apparent that he loves his children and is responsible towards them. Kimora does not have to spend the entire $20,000/month she gets for each child. She could and probably has been advised by lawyers to set up a trust fund for each child. More power to her.
THE MONEY WILL MOST LIKELY GO INTO A TRUST FUND. WITH THE LIFESTYLE THAT THEY LIVE, THOSE KIDS PROBABLY GO THROUGH 3 TIMES THAT MUCH IN A MONTH, CONSIDERING THE TRAVELING, SCHOOLING, LUXURIES, ETC.

Kimora doesn’t need all that is stated in the agreement, she is living in the house still they set-up for there family,and she already lives in California, Russell has turned over Baby Phat completely to her, she has full custody of the kids, 40,000 a month in child support and resonable vistiation agreements but its like she is taking him to the bank, she should be thankful he married her butt, and he proved for her to become who she is, I know the fashion world, and at 19 she was good but she was no top model, russell made Kimora the name she is, and she has shown she is a gold-digger. 8 yrs. of marriage, 2 kids, a mulit-millon dollar business, a reality show, and now another child on the way, like she really needs that one. I pray God helps her.
This man should not be paying child support at all i mean nothing. Women like her is the reason why some men don’t pay child support now.Why does she need 40k a month when she has enough money to take care of their kids and somebody else’s kids.I have always thougt she was a gold digger and this just proves me right. Russell always says nice things about his ex. He says she is a good mother. Also, he just posted a blog from his site Global Grind stating the details of why child support is 40K.
The reality is 98% of the people who are making comments can’t understand or comprehend the lifestyle of the rich and famous. So 40k to use or $400,000 to us is like a lot of money. Whereas, to Russell and his ex it’s like $40,000 or $4,000. Russell is not going to miss the money. It’s nothing.
