WNBA Superstar Lisa Leslie cannot bear to leave her one-year-old daughter Lauren behind while she is away playing in the Olympics next month.”I couldn’t imagine leaving her behind,” Leslie says of her daughter Lauren. In fact,Lauren has accompanied her mom on several basketball tournaments,including a recent one to Beijing. Lisa says that although she has not slept much since giving birth to Lauren on June 15, 2007, that the experience of raising a child has been rewarding and somewhat of a learning experience:”Nobody really tells you they come with their own personality. I thought I was going to mold her. No way. She’s super feisty. . . . My husband says, ‘She acts just like you, babe, on the court.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, great.’ “
Lauren’s father is pilot Michael Lockwood.
