Mogul Russell Simmons brought along his daughters Ming,8, and Aoki,5 1/2, and girlfriend Porschla to the 9th annual Art for Life Benefit Gala on July 19, 2008 in East Hampton, New York.Russell’s annual “Art For Life Benefit Gala” is held on behalf of his non-profit Rush Philanthropic. Rush Philanthropic believes in the vital importance of lifelong exposure to the arts, nurtured in early childhood, and anchored in sustained, creative experiences throughout one’s life. In its first 11 years, Rush Philanthropic has served over 700,000 urban youth, directed millions in funding from donors including individuals, foundations, and leading corporations to underserved youth, and established two exhibit and education facilities, one in Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill neighborhood and the other in Manhattan’s Chelsea arts district.

The girls appear to be very close, which is good. No sibling rivalry. I hope this continues in their teens and early adulthood.

The photo of Aoki kissing her big sister is adorable. I agree with nubian queen that Ming will be a beautiful young woman and Aoki will be just like Kimora – a diva. But let’s hope she grows out of it soon.
