SINGER ISAAC HAYES DIES;LEAVES WIFE AND 12 CHILDREN BEHIND
Singer,record producer, arranger, composer and actor Isaac Hayes died yesterday(8/11/08) in Memphis, Tennessee. Isaac was the father of 12 children, 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His fourth wife Adjowa Hayes gave birth to his fourth son(pictured below) named Nana Kwadjo Hayes(“pronounced Kwo-Jo”) on April 10, 2006.
Reports suggest that Isaac may have died of natural causes. According to People.com:
A releative discovered an unresponsive Hayes near an exercise machine in their home at midday, and Hayes was pronounced dead at 2:10 p.m. when he arrived at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office tells PEOPLE.
“The family had last seen him about noon,” says Steve Shular, public information officer for that office. “Family members had gone to the grocery store and left him home. When the family came home around 1, his wife’s cousin found him lying on the floor in the basement near a treadmill. The treadmill was running, so it is believed that he had been working out.”
Although the hospital is still determining the cause of death, Shular says Hayes most likely died of natural causes.
“There doesn’t seem to be any foul play,” says Shular. “We don’t see anything suspicious about his death. There will be a further statement from the hospital about the cause of death.”
The singer had an upcoming role in movie Soul Men with Bernie Mac, who passed away on Saturday from Pneumonia.

Thank you for remembering Isaac Hayes….he was a different kind of brotha…he was pro-black at a time when black men were trying to be Barry “the good black” Obama in order to reach their goals in life…and he was a man’s man…he was not afraid to portray a different type of black masculinity…
People think Michael Jordan was fashionable with his bald head look…please…Isaac was rocking a bald head with his sexy self when Michael was still in diapers! *LOL*

From my days at University of Detroit in the 70′s and Shaft was a big hit, I have been a fan of Isaac Hayes for that long. I send my condolences to his family and pray for peace as they grieve a great man. May his music live on as well as his legacy. Thank you Isaac for the memories.
