I am black and I was raised in a single parent home. I was never taught that I should marry a black man or just date in my race. God chooses who is your soul mate, if you listen to him, you wont have any problems. I also understand what others are saying about "dating outside the race" My children are mixed (Puerto Rican/Black) I am marrying a mixed man (Puerto Rican/Black). But I love to see people of color together and uplifting each other. Showing the world that regardless of the oppression our ancestors faced we are rising above that and we are doing it together. If someone chooses to date a white woman/man than thars their choice. It doesnt break or make me. As long as they love each other and their relationship was built on god, love, understanding and respect. Thats what you teach your children. Maryamb, I agree with a lot of what you wrote.
