Obama daughters Malia and Sasha joined their mother on stage at the end of her convention speech on day one of the Democratic National Convention on August 25th. Barack Obama later joined via video link to Kansas city .
Here is a snippet of Michelle Obama’s speech:
I come here as a wife who loves my husband and believes he will be an extraordinary president.I come here as a Mom whose girls are the heart of my heart and the center of my world — they’re the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning, and the last thing I think about when I go to bed at night. Their future — and all our children’s future — is my stake in this election.
And I come here as a daughter — raised on the South Side of Chicago by a father who was a blue collar city worker, and a mother who stayed at home with my brother and me. I am a single, disabled, primary caregiver for my 84yrs. old father. I have squeezed out two donations in our quest for the White House! I thought Lady Obama and girls represented what the meaning of ‘Family’ should be! She was concise, loving, believable, inspiring and encouraging. She brought a human element to Pres. Obama that only she could’ve done! GOD truly has blessed America with a choice…I choose Pres. Obama!
