DEMARCUS WARE AND WIFE’S BUNDLE OF JOY
Cowboys’ linebacker Demarcus Ware and his wife Taniqua couldn’t be happier. The source of their happiness is none other than their little girl Marley. Yet life hasn’t always been so blissful for the Wares:
Last January, DeMarcus and Taniqua were hurting professionally and personally. The football season crashed when the Cowboys lost to the Giants in the divisional round of the playoffs. Sitting in the front row behind the Cowboys’ bench was Taniqua. She was crying as she talked on her cellphone to family members. Just five days earlier, Taniqua had suffered her third miscarriage.
After their third failed pregnancy, the Wares lost all hope, until a friend suggested they adopt. Now the couple have six-month-old daughter named Marley. Demarcus says this about his new outlook on life, now that he is blessed with his “bundle of joy” Marley, named after reggae artist Bob Marley:
“You are so happy because you have a little bundle of joy in your life.I even find myself going to Wal-Mart looking for little toys. When I’m going grocery shopping looking for food, I’m getting baby food instead of food for myself.I never had a father around and so now with Marley in our lives this has really taught me a lot of responsibility. It’s also taught me how important a child is and how much happiness a child can bring to a family.”
Demarcus Continues, “I never had a father around and so now with Marley in our lives this has really taught me a lot of responsibility,” DeMarcus said. “It’s also taught me how important a child is and how much happiness a child can bring to a family.”

Adoption is such a wonderful thing! Many people always say that they want their own child, a biological child, but when you adopt a child you have the same feelings and have the same love that you would have for a biological child.

“The GAO report found that African American children made up less than 15 percent of the population in the 2000 Census, yet represented 34 percent of the children remaining in foster care at the end of 2004.”
Contrary to some new belief that white people are racing to adopt little black kids, that’s not true. Black kids still have the hardest time getting adopted. Maybe i’m wrong but if I had the funds and opportunity to adopt, i’d adopt black. But hey maybe they’ll adopt again and give a black child a home. Go ahead and eat my comments up – but that’s where I stand!

no you are excatly right, there both a dark skin couple, y did they go pick out this white baby
people might say oh they just took the 1st baby girl available but we both noe that there are dark skin kids in america who are waiting to be adopted. Its nothing to say “oh we want a child who looks like us”.
If there happy go ahead, but they basically denied some1 of there race for this one.
However i am happy she was adopted and she is cute.

your ignorant. That baby or any baby for that mattter cares about what color their parents are, they want love. I don’t see no African American people trying to adopt at all. We as a country have to get outta this thing about color. SO WHAT it doesn’t matter the color of someone skin.

awwww…. i’m sooooo happy for them!!!

i can’t even pretend that this is okay….they had a special on 20/20 about how black children are still the last to be adopted with white children being first, asian children being second biracial being third and black children being last. dianne sawyer said alot of them stay in foster care til’ 18 because no one wants a toddler or teen.. I mean it’s nice and all but it’s still sad that we have to depend on white people to adopt black children, really sad.

it amazes me how people are so closed minded when it comes to whites adopting black but, are so open minded when it comes to blacks adopting whites lol! i just dont understand why people cant be happy that a child is finally recieving a home. well congrats to the family and i wish them many blessings forthcoming!

I agree with tpink it is EXACTLY as Antwone Fisher described, dark skin children are the LAST to be adopted even by their own race. SO SO SAD!!

I AM CERTAIN THAT THE WARES DID NOT SPECIFICALLY ASK FOR A LIGHT SKIN/MIXED/HISPANIC CHILD! THEY PROBABY GOT THE “FIRST AVAILABLE” BABY GIRL THAT CAME THEIR WAY.
I, ON THE OTHER HAND, WOULD ASK FOR A LITTLE GIRL WHO RESEMBLED THE WARE BABY BECAUSE I AM MIXED MYSELF, AND THIS BABY LOOKS LIKE ME AND MY BIOLOGICAL SON.

OH………..AND MARLEY IS A BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL!!!

Wow! This is amazing. I have never seen a black couple adopt a white baby before. I am in awe. I just, I just dont know how to feel. Thats a cute baby girl, they make a lovely couple too bad she couldnt get pregnant naturally but its amazing to want to adopt and love another human being. I can see the genuine love in the photos. Im still amazed they adopted a white child.

1st that baby is so beautiful and deserves a good home with loving parents as do all children of all colors. 2nd it is obvious she is not white.
When a couple gets together and have a baby the way the baby looks is a matter of genetic dice rolling. Children can look like mother, father, grans, great-great grans and so on. Thus, you find many biological parents with children that look very much different from themselves. How many can really truly say they are 100% anything anymore??? My whole family and many around me are made up of beautiful people of all colors (black, white, hispanic, native american, asian). People need to do some research into their own background. It’s sad how some just choose to ignore that part of their ancestry instead of embracing the beauty in all cultures or types of people.
That said, I am teaching my son to love all of him self, not one part over the other. Denying one side would be denying his heritage and his grands. More power to all those, like this couple, who see mankind as one race–The Human Race!!!! God is not partial and neither are his true children.

This couldn’t happen to a nicer couple. Demarcus was one of my favorite students at AHS and it has been a thrill to see the success that he has had with Taniqua by his said. So happy for all of them–Marley is a lucky little lady.

The older the baby gets the more she looks like mixed version of him.. Either some adopted kids begin to look like their fathers or something else has occured, lol..

I dont see the problem with the childs colour. Maybe its unusual, but knowing she is adopted its not any different then white people with asian or black kids. Infact children are being adopted from everywhere in the world. We are all humans, one race.. The human race. And I think its wonderful that the babe is light skin, shows that this is a powerful and modern couple. Role models. Times are chaging

I myself was adopted by a white mother and white and native and white men. I am black it is so sad that our people cannot adopted there own race leave it to the white men to safe us. When my parents adopted there are so many black kids waiting to be adopted in america. After adopted myself and my 2 younger sisters from Haiti there adopted a little black girl from the south. My mom was so sad to see how many kids needed a home it seems like no one wants to adopt blacks kids mix kids get adopted like white kids in europe there do and in canada too. Our people need to help each other around the world who else is going to help us if we do not help our own race.

everyone who is condemning the wares for doing this is VERY ignorant. the story gos as such demarcus was with a friend who had sold him his car and saw a picture of the mans adopted child on the wall and expressed interest telling the other man of his wife and his struggles with pregnancy (3 miscarriages) and the man soon called back and told the wares he knew of a mother who was giving birth soon and was giving the child up for adoption. this is that child shes irish i think

Leave it to idiots like you to be jealous and filled with hate and animosity that a black baby didn’t get a chance to be adopted. Im black and I will gladly take in a white baby, mexican baby, chinese baby, cambodian baby etc and not black just to love a child period is a gift within itself. I would love to be one of the people who are aiding in breaking the barrier in the black community when it comes to this jealous tension. TransRacial adoption is amazing to me! We need to kill this thought of being able to sell out from being black by doing “white” stuff or hanging with white people. Persecuting people for mixing with the opposite race is doing nothing but furthering the thought that racism is okay…..IT’S NOT!!!! WAKE UP BLACK PEOPLE!!

Thank you SO very much for your honest and real comments, Raea. You absolutely it the nail on the head for those families like the Wares and my family who have suffered the unbearable pain of losing a child. In their case — more than once. Their strength amazes me and gives me strength to move forward. What this beautiful family went through is horrendous. It rips your heart out like nothing else to lose a child. The judgment about race on this site is ignorant. Get over it. Yes, racial discrimination is alive and well in America but let’s not drag it into the lives of people who are only following their hearts and wanting to bring a child into a loving environment. Let’s not make it into something it simply is not. Thank you for your courage for speaking the truth, Raea. The Wares and other families who go through this kind of this unbelievable difficulty of losing children deserve our love and support in their journey, NOT our judgments.
