Clearly the people have spoken, Thanks to everyone who voted.
And to the Obama Family and Biden Family God Bless, the road is going to be long and hard but keep the faith. And lets not forget the people before us that paved the way so Victory is ours.

I’M PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN, I’M PROUD TO BE APART OF HISTORY
I’M PROUD TO MAKE A CHANGE

  • Stand for Something or Fall for Anything!!!! says:

AMERICA HAS SPOKEN , THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN, WE MADE IT WE SURVIVED… THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES…PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA THE LORD IS TRULY GOOD…WHEN HE SAYS YES CAN’T NOBODY SAY NO!….PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA OBAMA NAD HIS BEAUTIFUL FAMILY… I AM SO PROUD RIGHT NOW.

  • nayboo says:

i see him as the first Peoples President and i am joyful for this moment because it took white, black, hispanic and all to vote him in

  • nayboo says:

also when you have different mothers its half not different fathers

  • jaybelle90 says:

People go by looks. Biracial is not on the standard ID. Black he lists himself as.

  • jaybelle90 says:

when you have different mothers/fathers… its still a half sibling.

  • lolalove says:

If this were still slave times he would have been right out there pickn cotton. Even though his mother was white. They go by the color of your skin. He wouldn’t have even been close to a house slave.

He lists himself as black. The man is black.

  • to says:

They said he is the first black president on European tv too. I think its good to show and remember his mother and grandparents because they are an important part of his life. Aswell as his extended family in kenya. Americans from all backgrounds cast their votes and have clearly no problem seeing a black or minority family in the white house.

  • CARLITA L. SMITH says:

OBAMA’S MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER MUST BE LOOKING DOWN IN COMPLETE JOY. I JUST LOVE HIS STORIES REGARDING THE WAY HE WAS BROUGHT UP HIS MOTHER AND GRANDPARENTS MADE ALOT OF SACRAFICES FOR HIM AND HIS SISTER AND IT PAID OFF.

AND I HAVE TO SAY IN REGARDS TO BARACK OBAMA’S FATHER WHO STEPPED OUT OF HIS LIFE AT A YOUNG AGE LIKE ALOT OF MEN DO TO THEIR CHILDREN. THIS IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF WHY A MAN SHOULD NEVER EVER BAIL OUT ON THEIR CHILDRENS BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW HOW THEY MAY TURN OUT. IN OBAMA’S CASE HE TURNED OUT TO BE THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

MEN OUT THERE DO YOUR PART IN YOUR KIDS LIFE BECAUSE THEY DON’T ALWAYS TURN OUT BAD. AND OF COURSE I’M NOT TALKING TO THOSE FATHERS THAT ARE DOING THE RIGHT THING. I’M SPEAKING TO THE ONES THAT ARE NOT.

AND BLACK BOYS ARE TWICE AS LIKELY TO END UP IN PRISON AND TWICE AS LIKELY TO END UP DROPPING OUT OF SCHOOL AND DOING DRUGS IF THEY DO NOT HAVE A STRONG AND POSITIVE MALE INFLUENCE IN THEIR LIFE. AND TRUST ME WHEN I SAY YOU DO NOT WANT ANOTHER MAN GETTING THE CREDIT FOR WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING. SO DO THE RIGHT THING AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHILDREN BECAUSE THEY CAN’T TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES. THEY DID NOT ASK TO BROUGHT INTO THIS WORLD SO IT IS UNFAIR TO THEM IF YOU BAILOUT.

  • SEXYnSASSy says:

Now that Barak has been elected president, people are on his back already, saying they can’t wait to see if he can pull this country together. Damn can the man get his foot in the door first, he has until 1-20-09 to be in the White House. There is still alot of hating going on, Get it together people get it together.

  • RobEngland says:

Judge not the man by the colour of his skin. Racism is not dead since so much reference is made to ‘The first black president’
Who cares what colour he is. Lets see what he acheives as a man then shall judgement be made.

  • CARLITA L. SMITH says:

We can’t lose sight that there are people that are going to be critical of him. And there are prejudice people that is hoping he fails.

  • Jenicia says:

Baraks sister husband is not Indonesian but Malaysian

  • [...] Last night was simply amazing. Barack Obama coasted to victory and gained a total of 349 electoral votes compared to John McCain’s 147. Barack received 62,806,760 popular votes to McCain’s 55,650,160. Many media outlets had predicted a landslide in favor of Obama. Barack galvanized the masses especially the celebrities. 145 years after Lincoln reluctanly signed the Emancipation Proclamation which liberated the African slaves, we then proudly elected the first African American President last night. • jasminechey says:

Congratulations Barack you deserve it. Im 18 and Im glad my first vote was for change and for the first black president. He truly is an amazing person. He is for the people, all people. He talk about change and help making the US a better place for all of us. He reminds me of Martin Luther King Jr. and I just continue to pray for him and his beautiful family. That God cover and protect them and bless them.

  • Well, first of all it should have NEVER mattered what color or nationality, or anything of that nature. He is a human being first and foremost, and our ONLY concern should have been who we can get in office to change the way the world is NOW.

I think the most disturbing thing to me, is that his mother was white and his father was black, and he is being addressed as African American! Hello? He is from both races and should NOT be catergorized in any ONE race.

He is Malato which means mixed race not african american or white. The white race has caused the catergorizing of a mix race and the only thing, I can say is that, it is IGNORANCE.

The white man made the rule if you have 3 % black in you, you are considered African American. Tell me, who the heck, made US think we have a right to address someone because of the color of their skin.

He is who he is and that is a HUMAN BEING! Live & let live! The ONE thing that is not in the bible and that is NO ONE is better than anyone else, or have any other rights, that the other race of people shouldn’t have no matter what race it is!!!

    YEAAAAAA BARACK!!!!! :)
P.S. I myself, am an Italian Amercian, and I feel we are ALL equal! :)

  • raya says:

However folks wants to label Barack Obama, he is our next president and all of America voted for him: black, white, latino, native american, and asian! Just shows how we are evolving as a nation.

And you know, we do need to acknowledge racially mixed folks. We keep on saying you gotta be one thing or the other? Says who? Some antiquated racist law from 200 years ago and yet people (black and white) continue to use today? Puh-lease! That BS was made by ignorant and scared people to hold other people down. And yet, it persists today.
So I am black even if I have a white parent? How insensitive and dismissive of that white parent. How would this board be if it were reversed? One drop of white blood made you white?
Let us racially mixed folks identify ourselves! Peace to you all!

  • albeltagy says:

Congratulation for your great success not only for you but also for the great nation that’ll be born with you, with your ideas, thoughts, believes. Every human being must- from now – have a dream, but to have a dream you must be free, and have a chance for human life . We hope all the world dreams could be achieved with a person like you . I hope to be able to attend the great day of the celebration on the 20th January 2009 with you .
Thank you just for the change idea, and for the ultimate human dream ( happiness instead of miserable ) .You have the chance to achieve the principles of the American fathers of ” justice, freedom and equality ” all over the world, we dream to live in a world without kill, why a child could be killed allover the world ?, this child may be a scientist or a thinker from whom the world could be benefit . Why a human being could be miserable allover the world ? , we could - with your idea of
Change – make the era of peace, justice and equality instead of the human war . May ALLAH pleas and help you to achieve your goals and mission .

How must the racisist feel now??? Their precious white woman has birthed the nations 1st BLACK president. Are they rollong around in their graves? What comes around goes around. Thank God for having the forsight to know that an african and a white woman would have the closest thing to our saviour!!!!!

  • justsayin says:

Barack is black but there is no denying that he is biracial. White people raised him. He met his father once when he was 10 years old. the only male figure he had in his life was a white man. Culturally he is more of a white man than he is a black man

  • Oo says:

It’s funny to say that he is black…
Her mother is white right? His father is black right? Why do people say he’s black? He could be both white or black man since he’s born from Black and White people…

    Who cares?
whish you good luck! God bless you!

  • Nanci says:

lololove, it dont matter about his color barack made something out of his life, so when you say if it was slave times he would be out in the cotton field, thats why millions of slaves and modern day leaders gave their lives, so that people like barack could fulfil his dreams, in slave times many slaves educated themselves, they didnt get the success but their childrens childrens got a taste of the american dream. So it dont matter by color they are lots of whites who are poor and uneducated, and still have their minds in the gutter like you, so even if barack didnt get to be president he would still make history and be a successful human being, because he have the education and the potential to make it better for him and his family, and they are lots of black people who are making it in the world, so who cares about the color of his skin, some people in the US will because racism is still ever present among us but at least we can defy the stereotyping some people have for us and move on, and make a better life for ourselves and our children, so go take your mind out of the cesspool you have it in and realize that barack’s mother knew her son would one day be a positive human being, she didnt got an abortion because she got pregnant especially in those times in the 60’s, I am sure some people scorn her and wanted to know what is she doing with a black man, but she bought up her son and educated him and he turn out to be a leader even before he became president, so eat your heart out because you probably dont even have half the amount of education and smarts like barack and michelle, michelle also had a good job making over 240,000 dollars a year, so why you going back to slave days, you know in slave days whites were also slaves? so go read your history and stop being an idiot and realize that life have processes we have to go through and things have to improve and people have to move on, so be thankful that it is not the slave times because many blacks make this country what it is today, you wont read that in your history books because history in the US was geared towards elevating the white man. What if macain had gotten in your employer wont have to provide health care for you, if you are an adult, and if you are a young person, you wont have health care by your employer, so go read your history because you are lacking in lots of common sense.

  • Cristine says:

in Europe we don’t call people with black & white parents black we call them mulatto or biracial

  • Cristine says:

    yes Sasha is pretty

  • HI MR. PRES ,IM SO HAPPY YOU ARE MY NEW PRESIDENT!! I KNOW YOU WILL MAKE A CHANGE IN THE WORLD AND I WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU A QUESTION!!!! HOW DID YOU GET THROUGH ALL THAT RACISM THE PEOPLE PUT YOU THROUG?

    FROM YASMINE SUMMER BINET!!!!

  • Jessica says:

    @ Chika

You are a evil person to talk about a smart, intelligent, and graceful woman and her precious dauhgter. Malia is beautiful and had she not been First Daughter she would have definitely been a model. Get a life, please.

  • sami says:

interestingly, in haiti he would be considered white, which points out how dumb it is to say obama’s black. he’s biracial and was raised primarily by his white family. he’s not the first black president; he’s the first biracial president, a true statement about america to day - we’re not black, we’re not white, we’re multiracial, multicultural. and that is exactly what obama is. and that to me is historic - to have an actual representation of our country.

  • to says:

Sami I doubt obama would be considered white in any country. Except maybe for some rural parts of the world and africa. Still there are africans including kenyans where his father is from with his complexion. I think CNN ans NBC also called him the first black president. while acknowlegeing his mother and grandparents. see his biography on the bio channel. His sister made some interesting points about his background.

  • to says:

    r. scaife i think you are being somewhat prejudice. How about the fact that he obama married the first black first lady??

  • to says:

@I understand what you mean by the racist. don’t forget that racist come in both genders.

  • to says:

Sorry i directed that at r.sacife. remember the lady who claimed a black man scrape obama on her face? I think he obama ran mostly on his country not race.

  • madmilker says:

did anyone go to his grandmothers funeral besides the nice people from Westboro Church…..

  • Ms. C. Dillard says:

To the family of President Elect Barack Obama, I’m 52 years old from the state of Georgia. I’m a disable woman who don’t let it get me down, I had to stay up to watch CNN on Tuesday night.

I must say I’m one proud woman in the USA now. Before the election numbers came in I was just thinking to myself, where on this earth can I go and live besides the USA and feel my freedom as a woman again?

Now I have my answer. God has sent a man to try hard to make Change for all people, now I will staty here in the USA, I have a part time job that I don’t worry about very much. Although the sales has dropped I’m still on my job thanking God that I still have it.

My heart goes out to those that has loss there jobs and so much more at no fault of their own. Times are hard for so many people now that I as one voter say this “It’s time for a big change in the USA”, now the man to bring that change has graceful steped up to the plate for all people.

The change has come and the way I feel now I just can’t put into words. I had to have surgery, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me from getting my vote in no matter what. The 106 year old woman in Atlanta, GA didn’t let her age stop her. So I had to what I know was right for my country and myself.

I’m so very proud of President Elect Obama and his family. You all really show what it mean to be a real family. I will keep you all in my prayers each time I speak with my God. May God continue to strengthen and bless you all forever.

First Lady Michelle you have given me strength to know that nothing is to hard to do or try once you set your heart and mine to it. I’m also very active in my community for the right thing.

I’ve had many to say I need to not speak out so much on so many issues, even my families tell me this, but I just go on any way. If speaking out is wrong, then I’m wrong and I will continue to go on until I just can’t speak and help those that need my help.

But I won’t and can’t stop now. I have 4 grandsons, one granddaughter who I love so very much. I always tell them that ‘Can’t’ is a word we don’t use in this family. All Things Are Possible With God. Amen!

  • Sayif Sanyika says:

I would like to secure pictures of Barack Obama and Family for a calendar, would you please contact me on how I can do that?

  • Ashley says:

He has made history now. Go Obama!!

  • ponto vecchia says:

ok, so, did anyone realize that so many black people didn’t think he could make it because white people wouldn’t vote for him…does it matter to anyone that THAT is a huge part of the racial divide - that they didn’t or don’t understand how white people actually feel about race - so much added pain onto what true racism really exits…that is sad

  • daWIFEYlaila says:

    lovely! our first black presidant!

  • JUDE says:

Obama we All NIGERIAN LOVE YOU WE THANK GOD FOR GIVING THAT VICTORY LET HIS NAME BE PRAISE JUST LIKE YOU SAID WHEN GOD SAY YES NO MAN CAN SAY NO

  • [...] Obama fulfilled the dreams of all afro-americans I am a huge fan of hip-hop music. I came in contact with this kind of music and 1988 and still re mained one of my favourites. So, finally, after 20 years of listening to this music, I finally see a black president in charge. I sincerelt think that, in some way, MC’s and bands like KRS-One, Chuck-D, Rakim, EPMD, Kool Moe Dee, Dr Dre, 2 Pac, Biggie, Snoop DiOuDoubleGee and many, many others paved the way to this. Unfortunately some of them are not with us anymore. I will definitely remain a huge fan of this extraordinary culture … hip-hop. I found on a blog called blackcelebkids.com some old photos of Obama and I attach for you one with his family in 2004. You can find the rest of the photos here. [...]
