OBAMASSASHAELECTTONIGHTRetailers are cashing in on First Children(elect) Sasha and Malia’s election night dresses.Gerson &Gerson Inc. says it has been calling retailers to let them know that 7-year-old Sasha Obama wore its black baby doll dress last Tuesday night. The president of Gerson & Gerson Inc,Barbara Zeins, says that the $72 baby doll dress has sold out at retailers like Nordstrom and Dillard’s. Ms. Zein’s says that her company plans on making more dresses like the one Sasha wore on election night;the new dresses will debut in spring:“We’re bringing back the style immediately in a different fabrication.” The style of dress will appropriately be called “Sasha”.

10-year-old Malia’s silk red dress that she wore on election night has also been receiving a lot of attention. The red dress was made by Biscotti Inc. The $110 dress has also sold out in stores but Biscotti plans on making more of the dress in time for the holidays:“Buyers really, really wanted it. We found out we had more of the fabric so we’re quickly producing more,” said Bernadette Reiss, Biscotti’s co-owner. Unfortunately, the children’s label has enough fabric to make 150 to 200 more pieces.

Looks like the First Family to-be is already bringing money into the economy.

The dresses are very age appropriate. Hopefully more parents will be inspired to do the same for their little girls. And stop letting her girls dress like mini 21 yr old pop stars.
