Actress Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon launched her new children’s jewelry line “Petit Bijou” over the weekend. Garcelle’s own petit Bijoux(Bijoux plural for a small, exquisitely wrought trinket) Jaid and Jax,1, her husband Michael Nilon,and some celebrity friends like actress Holly Robinson Peete and her daughter Ryan,11, were there to help celebrate the launch. Petit Bijou is jewelry for children ages 4 to 16:

I don’t want to get off track here, but what the hell are ghetto names? Black people foolishly attacking other black people for their choice of unique names, whether one cringes or not at the name choice another choses for their baby is irrelevant. Look at the people in Hollywood and the choice of baby names, Apple, bluebell, alabama gysie rose, daisy boo, and the list goes on… cringing yet, or is it just when you hear shanquia or laquitia???

Well Jax is a variation of Jack and that was her grandfather’s name. Jaid was to compliment Jax and while I think it’s a little girly it’s still fine.

@ Kiki I disagree but he definitely has got his mother’s face. If people would look long and close they would see that Jaid looks a lot like Garcelle but he just has fair skin and hair with hazel,grey eyes.

BARLOW= No don’t cringe at any of those names. Apple, Blueball are pronouncible, just weird as names. Some of the “ghetto” names as people call them are hard to pronounce, so they are cringable names.

“tiredofthismess” That is one of the rudest comments I’ve ever seen on this site. People can date/ marry whomever they want regardless if black, blue, red or yellow. And I’m not just saying this, my bf of 4 years id middle eastern and white. If we expect other races to get over prejudices we need to get over our own. If I keep seeing comments like this I’ll go to another site; i’m tired of hearing about race, the color of ones skin tone and the nappyness of celebrity children’s hair.

I think the baby looks JUST like her. Get past the color and you can see the exact same nose, wide-set eyes, and similar lips. @”tiredofthismess” : Do you think he traveled on a time machine into the future? How could he (and every other white man living today) “get enough of” something he didn’t experience? Along that line of thinking: Didn’t you get enough of being ignorant during slavery? The two who made those horrible comments act like they don’t know Garcelle has a fully black son by a black man she was in a relationship with.
I don’t details of why they are not still together but so what. Their relationship didn’t work out, that’s life and it’s too short.
Many relationships same race and non don’t work out, being happy with your life is all that matters and she looks happy to me.
