I’m with Leah27 and leo the lioness, I mean my goodness, you can’t tell me that there are not any women of color on their radar. I’m woman enough to admit that it pisses me off when I see all these NFL and MLB athletes showing off these botox, silicon, chicks. Give me a break. I sure would love to see a big named white pro player with a sister. I’ve got dibs on Big Ben Rothliesberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers!
I am so sick of trolls coming on this site objecting to what and how we live our lives. We can date and marry whomever they want it is their private lives and they have to live it. The child is loved and healthy and that is all that matters.

I find it interesting that all of the black men are such wonderful fathers to their biracial children, holding them up to the sky and take such pride in them. But these brothers that have children with black women have nothing to do with their children. I have seen it time and time again (in the malls and resataurants etc.) It is pathetic. The black men marry the white women and have these children and parade them around all day long, but hide their black children (from other relationships out of site). They have children with black women and never marry them. This is a disgrace. Black men should be prooud fathers to all their children not just the biracial children.

I agree with Lane & many of the other posters, there are so many beautiful black women out there why can’t these men realise that. No one is saying you can’t date outside of your race but jeez a lot of these black men are doing it like it’s going outta fashion but do you see famous black women doing the same thing in such large numbers- nope. But the way things are goin they gonna wind up having no choice but to find themselves a nice white man…

Comments like these only show your prejudices. People can date and marry whomever they want whether they are black, red,green or white. My boyfriend of 4 years is white and I hear these comments all the time from us black women and black men and it is hurtful. People can’t help who they fall in love with; I din’t set out to find a white guy while I was in college, but it just happened that we had a lot in common. First off there aren’t alot of available black men in college today and in the corporate world unless you go to a HCBU. I am pretty sure it is the same for the athletes and actors, there may be alot of black women in their circle.

@yalonda, relationships are 50/50. meaning both sides want each other. in florida there are many black guys with cubanita. why? because these men find other races attractive. silicon in them too? no. they are regular women. i do have a problem with black guys or any guy who try to give you dirty looks for dating other races.or try to discourage it. thats hypocrisy and selfish .
@kb: I generally have no problem with interracial relationships. I would have one if I ran into a guy from another race and fell in love with him. The point is, there would be no problem with successful black men marrying white women if it was happening with completely random frequency, however, there is unfortunately, a marked and observable trend of successful black men marrying white (or if not white then hispanic) women, and maligning black women in the process. This phenomenon also trickles down to the lower levels of society where the black men there generally “aspire” to date or be seen with a white (or if not white then hispanic) girl on their arm. They usually only get as far as the hispanics in this case though.
In general, the ranking goes this way:
White Woman
Hispanic/Latina Woman
Asian Woman
Anything Else
………..

…
…
…
Black Woman
The point is, their behaviour is hurtful to black women as a race. Every race on earth generally shows dating/marriage preference for their own race …. except Blacks in America.
Now my personal opinion is that Black women are far too loyal to Black men and should just quit them all together and date whoever they damn want, but the result of the general racial preference observation above is that while there are teeming numbers of Black Men that want to date White and Other Race women, there are relatively few White and Other Race Men that want to date Black Women.
Note: I said RELATIVELY.
Black Women remain the MOST unmarried demographic in America. Want to know why? Because for the MOST part all the other races in America marry people from their own race. And I suppose you’d think that Black people would do the same, but the Black Men are too busy running after women of other races, and even the ones that have children with Black Women won’t marry them. It’s like they’re holding out just in case “Ashley-Marie” or “Lauren” finally comes along. The phenomenon of Baby Mamas is nowhere more prevalent than in the Black race in America.
I’m sorry but it’s the truth. I don’t think we will be able to change Black Men’s conception of what is beautiful or desirable any time soon. My advice to Black Women is: Cut your losses and get out. Date ANY man that sweeps you off your feet, whether he is White, Asian, Latino, whatever. And oh, if you’re still hankering for a black man, then Africans, particularly West Africans will treat you much better.
This whole why can’t black men date inside their race is ridiculously old we black women have complainly since the dawn of intergration don’t get tired of saying the same thing to men you refuse to hear you? . Whinning and complaining about it on the internet will not change their minds and i don’t see half as many negative about garcelle and her family.
Interesting discussion! I know A LOT of white men who think black women are the most beautiful of all. But, they think that black women aren’t attracted to white men so they’re afraid to hit on them. LOL! And when I was growing up, my white girlfriends and I always wished we could look like Alek Wek and Erykah Badu, and hated being pale with thin boring straight hair! It’s surprises me that it seems to be a well known fact that black women are considered less desirable to successful black men. Just didn’t know & never would’ve figured, that’s all.

Black people marry whomever you want, if other people don’t like it, too bad! No one has a right to tell adults what to do.
I truly believe when Black women actively start seeking men of other races, we will then become the “in” thing - Black men will begin to treat us like the goddesses we are and not something to be stepped upon! We should stop making ourselves available to men who don’t deserve us and make men of other races take notice (in fact, they already are!)
If a Black man wants a women of another race just because it is a status symbol (and not because that is who he happened to fall for) then that woman he ends up with gets the short end of the stick and black women have dodged a narrow-minded bullet. We all grew up hearing that Black is Beautiful- now we just have to start acting like it truly is and stop putting all our hopes in Black knights in shining armor. We do not need these men who fail to uplift us and shun us (and dare I say, talk about Black women like we are less than worthy). I left them alone a while ago and I have never looked back!

The black guys did not take notice of me (until I showed up with my new multiracial boyfriend who look more white than black) then you could see all the frowns I got from the hypocrites - all of sudden my dark brown skin become more attractive to them.
Anyway, that is my take on this subject…
I’m willing to bet that if each person on here complaining about interracial dating of any sort spent a little less time worrying about what races other people are dating, they may be able to find a significant other themselves!
They’re in love, I’m very happy for them and their beautiful little girl. I’m sick of all this complaining women. If white people said the same, they would be called racists, but here you are, judging and whining because of nice couples loving each other. Get over it!

The cycle of the colorstruck black man is a sad one. These men aspire to marry out and do not value the beauty of black women. They have children and some look clearly mixed. Some resemble their father’s more. What do they tell their brown skin daughters?

i have to agree with this Laughter.IS.C it happen with my sister. those same guys who went to college and dated or marry caucasian american or european women. but its like that with almost every none white race. and i think its an overall black thing, sugabelly. go visit europe and there are plenty of west african And other black men with european wives or partners. infact 60 percent have a caucasian spouse. which is fine. i bring this up because we are always being told about the racist white man mostly from black men. but society almost neglect black women with relationships.
with that said, i have nothing against IR relationships. they have a beautiful daughter.
beallzon. maybe because the garcelle and heather headly kinds are fewer.@random lady. i notice that garcelle and heather are both children of west indian migrants, still black. but maybe because american black women had such a hard history of slavery in the amercias but als with seregation in the u.s. maybe its why many feel they need to be more loyal. @solene its not easy when your a minority lady and or black. although its not always an excuse to be hateful or racist against others.
There,re enough of black men to go around and you want see to many white men marrying black women because they were raised not too.
