FAITH EVANS TO SON:FAME COSTS

Submitted by admin on January 19, 2009 at 10:10 am 7 Comments

12 year-old CJ Wallace, the son of the late Notorious BIG, has been receiving great reviews for his portrayal of his father in movie Notorious.  Although CJ has been having a lot fun, he says that “it’s still work.”   CJ’s Mom, singer Faith Evans, concurs with her son and tells him “You want fame? fame costs”.

Faith adds, “If it wasn’t for this project being the project it was, I wouldn’t have pulled him out of school,” she said. “He thinks he’s interested [in being a performer], then every time he remembers that tutor he had on set, he goes back to reality. He’s like, ‘I don’t know.’ It’s fun, but it’s still work.”

In addition to the movie Notorious, CJ also CJ is  appears on the film’s soundtrack, rapping alongside his dad on a remix of “One More Chance.”

This was not a film that I was interested in seeing, but as a last minute decision, I saw it with a friend and really enjoyed it. Big’s success was during my middle-school/high-shcool years and honestly, I wasn’t really into his music. I was however really into Tupac (I mean, dude was fine and I loved his music). When Tupac died, that hit me hard, sort of like when Aaliyah died. When Big died, I was shocked but it didn’t phase me as much. I never saw what the hype was about him, but I couldn’t deny that there was a lot of hype. But after seeing the movie, I see Biggie in a new light. I know that a 2 hour film can in no way capture his life and career, but I felt like I understood more why there was so much hype about him. At the end of the movie you find yourself not wanting him to die. I can only imagine where hiphop would be if Pac and Big were still around. They died unnecessarily and both are still missed. Hip Hop has never been the same.

C.J. did so well in the movie that I forgot that I was looking at Biggie’s & Faith’s son. He’s a little cutie and seems like such a sweet young man. The fact that he’s doing so well says a lot about his mother. She looks good by the way. Always beautiful.

    Well Said Destiny,

Lots of younger ones like you did not know about Big’s influence on hiphop. But he was huge and his lyric were like no one before and no one after him. If you get a chance check out the sound track. There is a song on there by Jadakiss. It is REAL. It talks about how hiphop has changed since Big’s death. I wish he was still here! He is miss by millions and the movie shows that! Not to mention he was SEXY as all get out!

CJ is soooo cute. I can’t wait to see where he will be in 10 years. I am sure he will be some BIG just like his daddy!
