JENNA AND BARBARA BUSH’S LETTER OF ADVICE TO MALIA AND SASHA

Submitted by admin on January 20, 2009 at 7:27 pm 6 Comments

Jenna and Barbara Bush, daughters of former President George W. Bush, are offering advice to First daughters Malia,10, and Sasha,7, Obama. In a letter published in the Wall Street Journal today, the Bush twins offer tips on how to “play House in the White House”:

– Surround yourself with loyal friends. They’ll protect and calm you and join in on some of the fun, and appreciate the history.

– If you’re traveling with your parents over Halloween, don’t let it stop you from doing what you would normally do. Dress up in some imaginative, elaborate costume (if you are like us a pack of Juicy Fruit and a Vampiress) and trick-or-treat down the plane aisle.

– If you ever need a hug, go find Ramsey. If you want to talk football, look for Buddy. And, if you just need a smile, look for “Smiley.”

– And, a note on White House puppies–our sweet puppy Spot was nursed on the lawn of the White House. And then of course, there’s Barney, who most recently bit a reporter. Cherish your animals because sometimes you’ll need the quiet comfort that only animals can provide.

– Slide down the banister of the solarium, go to T-ball games, have swimming parties, and play Sardines on the White House lawn. Have fun and enjoy your childhood in such a magical place to live and play.

– When your dad throws out the first pitch for the Yankees, go to the game.

– In fact, go to anything and everything you possibly can: the Kennedy Center for theater, State Dinners, Christmas parties (the White House staff party is our favorite!), museum openings, arrival ceremonies, and walks around the monuments. Just go. Four years goes by so fast, so absorb it all, enjoy it all!

The Bush daughters most important advice? “remember who your dad really is.”

Ya know… I really don’t care for their daddy, but I believe the Bush daughters meant those words from the heart. But of course, how can anyone in their right minds not just fall in love with Malia and Sasha.

lol the last people they should be takin “advice” from but gotta admit it’s cute & friendly and few know whats it like to be “the first kids” but the bush kids lived it so why not.

I have the feeling those of African heritage raised in Europe do not have the same hang ups about kinky hair, especially on children. They don’t seem to be bothered by it in its natural state.

Thats nice advice, I bet they and their mother will be asked for to write some memoirs. No one want to know what George Bush has to say anymore

where did that come from Dee… random

I do agree with you to an extent, I’ve lived most of my life in the UK and me seeing e.g Mel B’s youngest daughter’s hair doesnt faze me, I see that all the time but I know some of my American relatives would be straight over there with the hot comb and all that.
Its not the end of the world IMO but I assume the black hair industry is big over there seeing as we get most our stuff from there or mainland Europe.

Pay a lot of attention to what Jenna and Barbara have to say to the new first children and thank you for expecting kindness and respect from readers. The authors of this family centered site have tremendous judgement. Jenna and Barbara have all of their heart and soul in improving the lives of children for generations to come.

These two first daughters will always have a special place in my heart. My words to these first children in a time of need are the same words we say to you:

Love the earth God gave you, love the life he breathes into you, and live that life with a “joi de vive!”.

    Truly,

    Mary

Unlike the claim, the letter is not personally addressed to Malia and Sasha who I am sure are not avid readers of the WS Journal. It is a publicity letter for the Bush women. Like the letter former President Bush left for president Obama, the Bush sisters should have given the letter directly to Obama’s daughters. Publicity hounds know how to keep the attention on themselves.
