BCK Says: Do you think young Christopher Wallace should be rapping such graphic lyrics?

BCK, I haven’t heard it (and I’m at work and afriad to even click on the link, given your inquiry). But, I’m inclined to believe if you had to ask, the answer is probably in the affirmative. It’s sad that his mom would allow him to do it. Boy, the power of the dollar bill.
His sons needs to follow another career choice. Rap is not for him. He sounds awful, and furthermore WHY is he on a sexually explicit record anyway?
Get it together black people, please.
so true Ma, so true!! This song was not needed!!
Why is he on this song its a bit too explicit for his age i agree with everyone else this is a lil too much. Its amazing what we would do for a lil cash
and he is only 12 OMG NO!
Horrible but I think diddy trying to exploit another wallace
Faith ought to be ashamed of herself, The lyrics used in that song are nothing to be proud of. However, it is typical of her because she also brought her children to the premiere of the movie, which was highly explicit. What kind of Man is she really raising?
I guess it’s to each it’s own because I don’t see what’s wrong with it. Obviously Faith doesn’t have a problem with it so why should we? Doggone today’s society and their way of thinking. I have a 10 yr old son and I allow him to listen to this type of music. Obviously Faith doesn’t care what will be said about it cause she still allowed her son to rap along to HIS FATHER’S song.
totally inappropriate. Seems almost criminal to have a 12 year old on a song with lyrics like this. I’m sad
He sounds HORRIBLE! sorry kid, but stay in school.
totally inappropriate
If you really took the time to listen to it, you would see that he’s not rapping any of the explicit sections. Biggie is rapping all of the sexually suggestive and drug references while CJ raps about COOGI…for the most part. The song is explicit, yes, and inappropriate for a twelve year old but don’t judge that in its self. The kid is rapping for a the soundtrack to his dead father’s Biopic. I mean…in some cases, such as this one, it is acceptable and okay.
No wonder parents are raising future thugs. Please encourage your children to read and stop listening to b.s. If it’s not going to help our children get ahead, what’s the purpose? No wonder our black boys and girls are lagging behind everyone else. Yes, Nicole. Society’s way of thinking. I agree.
I remember years ago when I went to see, “Set it Off.” You would’ve thought it was a Disney movie. SMH. I wonder how many kids went to see, “Aleklah and the Bee?” When I went to see that, 99.9% of the kids in attendance were white!
Just because his dad could rap doesn’t mean he can biggie he should just stay i school and dont ruin the song
who cares if he’s rapping the explicit parts or not, he’s still ON the track, which implies that he’s heard all of it. it’s inappropriate and anyone justifying this needs to reevaluate their morals and what they feel is appropriate for children
leave him alone hes a just a kid doin a tribute to his dad.
i believe that as long as the black parents today are teaching their children right from wrong there is nothing wrong with him rapping over these lyrics. because you allow your child to listen to these types of lyrics does not mean that they have no morals. a song can not raise a child… its up to the parents to do that. as long as faith is teaching him how to be a man thats all that matters.
I agree with Bunny…..I mean come on you think the kid remembers his dad? Biggie’s music tell life stories of himself and others as well and CJ wasn’t old enough to remember his dad and his music can be something that he can listen to and learn a little about his dad. Would you take that away from your child? Learning a little about his dad? I didn’t think so….
this is dope
If thats how faith wants he to remember his dad she needs alot of parenting lessons. Sure why doesn’t he lean about his dad through his songs like suicidal thoughts and many other bad songs.
i like it ..i dont like faith evans , but this is a good tribute to his dad .. leave him alone ..hatersss !!!!
It’s not a matter of hating on him, it’s a matter of what children should be exposed to. Unfortunately a lot of parents AREN’T raising their children correctly. I know a woman whose 2 year old is parked in front of BET all day long! Oh, but that won’t have an effect on him, right? And then we wonder why so many young black men exalt the thug life. I have an idea. How about exposing them to reading, writing and arithmetic. You wonder why black kids are lagging behind everyone else academically? Because many of them plop their behinds in front of the television and parents don’t see to it that they do their homework. Yes, you instill morals and values in your children, but that doesn’t mean you put them in front of pornographic music. Why is that so hard for people to understand? Sheesh.
As a person that lost a father at a young age you often search for ways to be closer to the parent you lost. Although the lyrics are explicit I believe for him it was more about doing something with his father, an opportunity that he never had. I’m sure for Faith, as his mother, it was the one thing she could do to let him be close to his father. I have no problem with it.
People please, stop trying to act like you all are so perfect in raising a child. Plus if you don’t have one you shouldn’t even be judging how Faith is raising her son. This was done in good taste and gave his son a chance to have fun with his dad on a song. Plus did he say he wanted to rap for a career. This young boy and buy all of you.
Get a grip! r.i.p BIGGIE
This is a conversation with various opinions. Sheesh. It’s not as though Faith is going to come here for parenting advice. Some people agree, some don’t, but it’s not worth having a heart attack over. He’s not my kid so I’m not losing sleep.
If people would listen his son is not singing the whole song only certain parts. On the rude parts it’s just Biggie. I don’t see anything wrong with that. It’s something Faith approved and that’s her son and it’s something that is probably important to her between her son and his father. This is nothing compared to what some of these children are doing these days including some of your own children. Give it a rest. He wasn’t rapping any of the “graphic” parts.
Seriously!,you people are really out of line. He’s not even rapping most of the song.He leaves it up to his dad,and then every now and then he busts a few lines and then B.I.G is back on the track.I think he didn’t do anything wrong–and neither did Faith for allowing him to rap alongside HIS FATHER in the song. And if some of you quick judging people listened close, you’ll find that on all the explicit parts CJ is not found to be the one reciting the lyrics.
Thank you.
First off,
I feel that it is very tastefully done, and besides, why shouldn’t he be allowed to flow to his late fathers masterpiece?
People, get a grip!!! When the same was done with Natalie Cole and her father, a duet that everyone thought would only be made in heaven, the world cheered! Now, just because this is a hip hop joint, is a “bit rougher around the edges” then your typical love ballad, and represents the realness of modern-day life, everyone wants to bug out! Those same people have no problem watching preteens prance around half-naked and on the disney channels mega successful high school musical. Come on yall, there can’t be a double standard!
Personally, I let my kids do exactly what CJ does when they listen to music with cusswords, watch R rated movies, or play video games that feature violent play….singalong, watch, or play along as you wish, but know that there is a fine line that you cannot cross. YOU MUST SEPARATE REALITY FROM WHAT YOU ARE SEEING OR WATCHING, AND YOU MUST ALSO USE YOUR COMMON SENSE! That fine line is called respect. For yourself and for your parents that allow you to grow into the person that you are without the blinders of life that so many feel necessary to raise the “perfect child”.
And to the clown that had the audacity to comment on young CJ’s rap skills, get a life homey! I am glad that he puts his education over everything else, and as long as he has that, whatever comes next will only be icing on the cake. Much props to Faith and family for allowing B.I.G.’s legacy that has touched so many people in the world, influence their child, and by doing so, allowing his soul to forever live inside of his son, as it will in the history of music!
Love and Peace!

R.I.P NOTORIOUS B.I.G
he shoulda done who shot ya lol hopefully he surpasses his father as a rapper, hes got potential. i wanna see how this turns out…
First of I would like to say that CJ did a great job in the movie portraying the father he was never given a chance to know. Despite what a lot of you all on here say, the words in this song are a part of life. Kids hear worse language outside and sometimes even at school. CJ is paying tribute to his dad and for that reason I think all of you who are negatively criticizing him need to get a grip. Seriously, how can you argue about the well being of a child by insulting him at the same time.I am a very educated young woman who graduated from college and work in the professional world on a day to day. Growing up I listened to Pac and Biggie and never thought about shooting anyone or doing drugs. People put so much emphasis on how Hip-Hop has such an effect on society, but they fail to look at the bigger picture. A lot of problems with children and adults start at home and not on TV. I’m not saying you people have to like the song or agree with it, but I do think some of you need to be slapped with reality. CJ is a 12 yr old boy who has the opportunity to keep a part of his father with him at all times, a lot of people can’t do that so lets just agree to disagree on this one… keep on keeping on Faith and CJ and let the rest of the world feel how they feel! At the end of the day none of us make a difference in their lives!
No problem with this at. It is cute. Give it up. The kid is famous at 12 because of his dad he never got to know. He will much worse going to school and walking the streets of NYC where he lives now. This is nothing and he not even rapping the really rough parts. Plus, if I remember, this osng was not edited very much when it was in heavy rotation.
ya’ll can stop hating on C.J. he sounds really good
so keep up da good work c.j. don’t listen to da hata’s and wat dey gotta say. keep on doin ya thang.im proud of u
First of all I’m 16 and I’ve been exposed to that kind of music all of my life. That doesnt make me illiterate shoot I know more words than half my peers do. Just because you listen to something doesn’t make you want to be what your listening to. The excuses you grown folks come up with are crazy just to either cover up your parenting or make your parenting look the best. Truth is it has nothing to do with music or TV it has to do with the childs confidence and leadership. If they arent strong in those areas then chances are they will want to follow others and you will have a little want to be gangsta on your hands lol. Messed up but true even in the Notorious movie, Biggie says he wanted to be like the boys selling dope so what did he do, he followed them, and look at how his mom was so strict on him, didnt even let him go that far. Once again it doesnt matter, if you want to help your kids teach them to have confidence and how to be a leader and by no means let them walk all over you. Even if one parent is not there for any reason dont give pitty at all teach them thats key trust me I know I’m a kid myself. Anyways let me digress I think you should just leave the dude alone. All this he was awful and stuff it’s not neccessary how old are you now common he is a kid for goodness sakes I’m sure he reads this. Plus he is 12 he has common sense and should have a load of confidence in his self being that he is B.I.G’s and Faith’s son to know that he shouldnt be like that and im sure Faith knows that. I think it was an innocent rap just to put something together to at least feel little close to his father. And with that said any of you that have a better response to this please write it.
so the kid wants to be like his dad is there really somehing wrong with that sure it has some stuff kids that age shouldnt know but who cares let his mom raise him the way she wants whether that includes letting him be on the movie or sing in the song with her and his dad mind you or not. really its her kid so let her do what she wants shes a grown ass woman she knows whats wrong and right
