TRAGIC NEWS: MAN KILLS WIFE AND FIVE CHILDREN
A man in California has killed his entire family and he claims that he and his wife planned the slayings, but police officers don’t believe him.

In one upstairs bedroom, the bodies of twin 2-year-old boys were found beside their dead mother. In another bedroom, 5-year-old twin girls and their 8-year-old sister lay next to their lifeless father.
Officers discovered the horrific scene after rushing to a home in Wilmington, prompted by the father’s distraught letter faxed to a TV station describing a “tragic story” and a call to authorities.
Police believe Ervin Lupoe, 40, killed his five children and his wife before turning the gun on himself. Both adults were recently fired from their hospital jobs.
“Why leave our children in someone else’s hands?” Lupoe wrote in his letter faxed to KABC-TV. The station posted the letter on its Web site with some parts redacted.
The station called police after receiving the fax, and a police dispatch center also received a phone call from a man who stated, “I just returned home and my whole family’s been shot.” Police are unsure who the male caller was, but they suspect it was the father.Officers rushed to the home in Wilmington, a small community between the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and found the bodies.All the victims were shot in the head, some multiple times, coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. The killings may have occurred between Monday evening and early Tuesday, based on neighbours’ accounts of firecracker sounds, he said.Although the fax — addressed to “whom it may concern” and explaining “why we are dead” — asserted that the wife, Ana Lupoe, planned the killings of the whole family, police Lt. John Romero said Ervin Lupoe was the suspect. A revolver was found next to his body.

That is crazy. They say that they made a suicide pact. If that is true why kill the babies? What’s the point of having them if something goes wrong you need to kill them. Kill urselfs let them live the life you gave them. I’m so mad @ what they did,

What is WRONG with people!
I’m all about men stepping up and being their for their family…but if it gets to be so much for you that you decided to KILL your whole family, then just WALK AWAY!
Maybe its just me but I would prefer (and come to terms with) my father or husband walking out on me rather than him murdering me & my family.
***As bad as it sounds, why couldn’t he just take your own life (since that was part of the plan anyway), why bring the whole famly down with him?

I personally think it has everything to do with a complete lack of faith in God and the man’s ability to care for his family. When I read this story I was so sad. The kids are beautiful and their parents had no right to end their lives because they didn’t believe in themselves. I am sure they had better options like getting some assistance from the state or even family and friends for that matter. It say the wife is the one who came up with this idiotic plan.
Richard Pryor use to say I try not to listen to people who think the same way I do. That’s how my life got messed up in the first place. He should have gone to someone other than his wife for advice if that was the best advice she could come up with.

SMH ova and ova again…This is the entire definition of senseless. This mans problems did not necessitate the killing of his family, nonetheless, himself. According to the above article they “recently” lost there jobs. That says that they had not been unemployed long enough to really feel desperate. The healthcare industry is booming with jobs, they could have easily been home health aids or something of the sort. Their situation called for dilligence, I understand they have five kids, okay, so what you do is cut a few notches off your way of life. Diversify your fashion sense and shop at thrift stores, substitute your food stuffs for store brand, sell your house and get a two bedroom apartment: the girls get one room, the boys the other and the parents could make the living room their bedroom (cut it off) and the dining room could be the living room and hell they could sit on the floor and eat or get them trays….Situations like this cause me to get sick to my stomach. Killing your family is never the available option; insane people pursue that choice because another way seems unreasonable to them. People are hopeless and its sad because the minute something bad happens they jump on the desperation bandwagon and all hell breaks loose. What a sad….tragedy…them babies..hmmmm

I think this is terrible but I think the parents logic was to have the family be together in heaven (i assume).
I know we’re in a recession but it’s not that serious. They could have given the kids to an orphanage and killed themselves. Pathetic if u ask me.

Wow…That is horrible!! They should’ve tried to get another job. They could’ve tried to get help for their family. Sell things you don’t need, something instead of killing five precious kids. Even if they wanted to kill themselves, they could’ve dropped the kids off at some family members or friends home and did their thing.

I personally don’t feel this case makes any sense. In the articles and news videos I’ve seen about this case, it was stated that it was the *MOTHER* who suggested this horrific “plan”. But then, I’ve very VERY rarely heard of mothers who could come up with a ghastly idea of slaughtering an entire family because…why? She and her husband recently lost a couple of jobs? I mean, that’s it? Why didn’t they go on unemployment insurance, try to get financial assistance, see also if they could get some sort of aid from family/friends? Also, they could’ve simply continued on with the search for work. As someone else suggested, they could have sold the house and scaled back to a cheaper apartment. Why would their thoughts immediately turn to something as demented as suicide/mass murder? Jeez, how bizarre!

As a former co-worker I can say I would have never seen this coming from them, especially Ana. As a former Kaiser employee I also know that they are highly capable of all the accusations that were made. Does it make this tragedy easier to deal with no but all I can say is Rest in Peace Lupoes.

O my goodness. To take your own life that’s one thing, but to kill 5 innocent children because allegedly your wife planned it, is another. I think its best he did kill himself because he would have been hated and lonely for the rest of his life and there’s no other punishment suitable for someone capable of doing that.
