Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons brought along his daughters Ming,9,(R) and Aoki,6,(L) as well as his older nieces Vanessa(Polka dots) and Angela(in red) to the 40th NAACP Image Awards held on February 12, 2009 in Los Angeles, California.

I just finished having a discussing with my co-workers on the behavior of Ming and Aoki at the Image Award. Most of my coworkers said the kids were bad and needed to get a whooping. Me on the other hand thought that Ming was well poised and that Aoki was the average 6 year old. Please tell me what you think.

I watched this last night, these are beautiful girls, however I noticed when standing ovations were occuring these kids were sitting down, i am not old but even i know that when I was a kid when my parents stood up i did, these kids are soooooooooo spoiled & their mother justifies it by calling it fabulosity………i think not

I think they need more home training, they definately are not as well behaved as the Obama girls; (I hate to say spoiled).
I quess it aint their fault if their Mama overindulges them; they are cuties though.

I thought it was disrespectful when Russel was beiong honored by the poets and one of them said something about baby phat and Aoki said”Baby phat is mommys not yours” Those kids have no discipline and They think Aoki is a hand full now wait until she gets about 11-12

The Simmons girls look absolutely beautiful! Aoki’s dress is the exact same one my daughter wore for her kindergarten graduation last May. What a small world!

I’ve seen bad kids and these girls are angels compared to all of them. Little Aoiki does seem to have a little diva side to her, but I think most little girls do. Mommy just has to make sure it’s kept in check. Kimora doesn’t seem to be slacking in the discipline department. Daddy is probably the push over. They’re beautiful girls and I think they will be fine. I love Vanessa’s whole look!

I love how everyone is blaming the mom for the kids behavior while no one mentions parenting involves BOTH the mom and the dad.

Angel>>>Here’s my opinion. I think it’s an average 6 year old that hasn’t been properly trained. Her older sister was wonderful. She knew how to act. I though her behavior was wrong and I hope they get a grip on her before she’s a teenager. Again, JMO.

I disagree Angel, that little one is not your average 6 year old. Lol… she is another Kimora but I think that’s fantasic because there is nothing wrong with Kimora. She’s posing as a model (she is anyway, isn’t she???) They are adorable girls. The older one has her mom features and her dad personality while the little one more favors dad and has mom personality. Too cute!

I think that Ming is well behaved, but Aoki is a mini (out of control) Kimora. Does that little girl have ADHD? I had to stop watching Kimora’s show, because I can NOT STAND the way that she acts. It’s a shame that little Aoki is such a brat, and has no clue how to conduct herself as a young lady. She needs to take notes from Sasha Obama who is around the same age. Michelle Obama DOES NOT act like an out of control DIVA like Kimora. She does not parade around conducting herself like a rich b**ch!! She teaches her girls how to behave in public, and Kimora doesn’t. Aoki is only repeating how her mom acts, and the comment about her being a typical six year old is FALSE. The fact that little brat said, “Baby Phat is mommy’s NOT yours” proved to me that she needs to stay in her place. She needs a SERIOUS ass whooping! Kimora would not be HALF as famous as she is now if it were not for Russell. Just wait until Aoki gets older…wow! Ming is a very respectful young lady. They are going to be like Paris and Nicky Hilton. Nicky is the calm one, and Paris is the obnoxious one that hoards attention. Don’t get me wrong…Russell Simmons can be obnoxious as well. (with a FOUL mouth!) Aoki got it honestly, but I would have been completely embarrassed at her behavior when he was on stage accepting his award. All I have to say is, she may be rich as hell with a fat neck…but Kimora is like school on Saturdays…NO CLASS!!!!

AOKI is KIMORA in training…but who can blame her? children emulate what they see. She will eventually grow out of it when kids at school check her and she starts to loose friends.

Another thing… Sasha Obama who is Aoki’s age has a innocent childlike mischievousness that isnt disrespectful and knows when to turn it on and off and dares not press her luck with adults. Aoki on the other hand is smart mouthed…two very separate characteristics. To me, Kimoras girls need a little more time with children their own age and that will keep them out of adult conversation. On her show, Kimora handles business matters in front of her girls, she yells at the help and she demands things all the time! It only makes sense for AOKI to say, “if mama can do it, so can i.”
