JASON RICHARDSON ARRESTED FOR RECKLESS DRIVING WITH SON IN THE CAR

Thursday, Feb 19 , 2009 9:26:am by admin FILED UNDER Uncategorized

“I just want to apologize to everybody — my teammates, my family, especially my fiancee,” he said. “It’s a tough time for me. I’ve been questioned as a basketball player, questioned as a person, but my fatherhood in question is tough, because I try to be the best father I can be, and try to keep my kids out of harm’s way.”

Phoenix Suns player Jason Richardson was arrested on Sunday night after going 90 mph in a 35 mph zone, while his three year old son sat in the back seat unrestrained. Jason was arrested on the scene for reckless driving, excessive speeding, and failure to use a child seat.  A few hours later, he was released.

Richardson later put out a statement apologizing for his reckless behavior: “I just want to apologize to everybody — my teammates, my family, especially my fiancee,” he said. “It’s a tough time for me. I’ve been questioned as a basketball player, questioned as a person, but my fatherhood in question is tough, because I try to be the best father I can be, and try to keep my kids out of harm’s way.”

As a result of his reckless driving, Jason was suspended from playing in Tuesday’s Phoenix Arizona game.

They didn’t just say his baby was unrestrained while he was driving 90 mph, did they? Okay, since people always accuse others of being judgmental, all I’m going to say is – this stuff PISSES ME OFF!

“…but my fatherhood in question is tough, because I try to be the best father I can be, and try to keep my kids out of harm’s way.” WTF? Well that’s the way to do it, buddy. Drive like a maniac and not just have your son in the car – that alone is crazy, but to not have him in a car seat? Yeah, I know. I said I wasn’t going to be judgmental, but I couldn’t help it. All people make mistakes, but this could’ve turned out so different. Thank God all are okay, especially his baby boy!

The baby should have never been in the car without a child seat in the first place.

I really hope that he learned his lesson.
