RUSELL SIMMONS AGREES TO PAY 40,000K IN CHILD SUPPORT
According to court records filed on Thursday(January 26th), Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons has agreed to pay $40,000 a month in child support, $20,000 each for his daughters Ming,9, and Aoki,6, until they turn 19. Per the agreement, Kimora Lee Simmons, the mother of Russell’s two girls, has sole custody of her daughters and requests that “when the children are in [Russell's] custody, they shall be accompanied at all times by a nanny and security person,” the filing reads.
People reports that the hip-hop mogul has also agreed to provide a new car worth at least $60,000, every three years until the children turn 16.
Russell was granted visitation rights, which gives him time with the girls every eighth week during the school year and on certain holidays.
The couple separated in March 2006 and two years later, Kimora Lee Simmons filed for divorce.
Ok does she really need all that money for them when she is making a lot of money as well. I hope she puts it in a trust fund for them and what’s with the car?
Wow, maybe I am reading btwn the lines but it seems Kimora has some concerns about her girl’s safety when they are with him?

Wow the Simmons’ girls wont have to work a day in their lives if Kimora does the right thing and puts all that money in a trust fund but I’m thinking why does she need all of that money and the car thing really baffles me.

1. NO ONE needs 40,000 a MONTH to take care of their kids properly! They could get by on much less than that ESPECIALLY when Mommy makes PLENTY of money herself!
2. A new car every three years UNTIL they turn 16? Isn’t it WHEN they’re 16 that they’ll need their own car? Again Kimora has enough money to get her own car to chauffer them around in… and why over 60,000? People are so greedy why can’t they be happy with what they have?
…I forget, did they move to LA? Because if they still live in Jersey that “every 8 weeks visitation is ridiculous!”

I agree with you Denoche, I was just thinking that visiting your girls every eighth week sounds hella harsh. I hope the 3 adults continue to put on happy faces and be cordial, especially for the girls

BCK is overdoing it with the simmons’. I haven’t seen Russell complain once. He’s either very passive & zen or Kimora knows something he doesn’t want anyone to know. Then again, he’s probably just a loving dad..
Why would she even request such an amount? It’s unecessary. Kimora’s man has money, she has PLENTY, so again why so much and why no complaint on his part? Seems fishy. Looks like he’s paying for all of them including the new baby.

It’s just too much. You can’t tell me that 40K isn’t going to be helping out Djimon and the new baby, or will be used in case any of Kimora’s ventures go south.

I understand the man has money, but you never what could happen or how the economy could affect his holdings. That just seems an exorbitant amount and as the woman, just because the court grants it doesn’t mean you can’t negotiate something more reasonable.
After you’ve shared a life with someone, doesn’t it feel a little sleazy to be jacking them like that?

40k seems like a lot, but most of the time child support is done on a percentage of the parent’s salary. They should get the same life style as their parent. Period. Russell Simmons lives a lavish life. He probably blows 20K on himself a month so why not blow some of that money Ming and Aoki’s way? I’m sure she spends money on them too and I’m sure they pay a crazy amount for private school.

40k seems like a lot to me, but as for Russell, to much is given, much is required. Kimora has extraordinary living expenses, (whether agreeable or not) and we really don’t know what the money is being used for. We also don’t know what Kimora has on Russell that has him paying so much.
