TYRESE GIBSON:A DEADBEAT DAD?
According to Tyrese’s estraged wife Norma, Tyrese Gibson is a deadbeat dad. Norma claims that for the most part, Tyrese never made time for their daughter Shayla,19 months old, during their ten-month marriage:
“Persons in the entertainment industry always seem to have a fascinating ability to characterize their life choices as somehow different, more important and not a matter of choice, but a “requirement,” entitling them to special rules and considerations.”
Norma says that although she and Tyrese were married for only ten months, she deserves part of the money that he earned during that time:
Norma states, “The short length of the marriage, which Petitioner cites ad nauseaum, is irrevelant–how much money Petitioner earned during the short marriage is the relevant issue. He earned roughly $800k during the ten months of marriage.”
Norma adds, “a single mother with no family or friends, with effectively no funds whatsoever, [can not] simply walk away from potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars simply because it is Petitioner’s position she must do so.”

I keep thinking about the first season of “College Hill”. When the pregnant girl met Tyrese and TI. And she said IT was cool but Tyrese was an a**hole. So I’m starting to believe more of Norma’s story.

If you read Norma’s whole quote she went on to say how Tyrese was providing her 5k a month. Also, SHE did chose to sign that prenup so i have no sympathy for her situation. She needs more $$$ because her daughter can’t and shouldn’t wear outfits more than 1x. PLEASE.
Again ladies, this is an example of why you should be more aware of who you chose to lay with and bear seeds.

Thank you Midnite. You can recover from any situation if you know how to be self sufficient and have a certain level of independence. Relationships fail everyday. Some women put too much emphasis on the “nani” thinking that and a pretty face is going to get them a meal ticket for life. NOT!
I believe this woman is a liar as well as a gold digger…She needs to get a life along with a job….or back to whatever country she came from she know she just wanted that Green card to stay here in the United States…They all do…I love midnite response…

It’s hard nowadays to know who is really telling the truth but if I was married and my husband was making alot of mula, I would have a little stash on the side just for this reason but hopefully everything will be setteled in court.

Although I do respect everyone’s opinions on this site, it seems though that a lot of you are blaming the woman in this situation. Remember that it takes two to make a baby, not one. Tyrese should have put a cap on, if he wasn’t ready for the responsibilities.
I do believe that the child is entitled to be well taken care of.
I am sure the judge will ensure that but as for what Norman is entitled to it is kind of hard to say that you are entitled to half his earnings when you literally walked in according to you with nothing and the marriage has not last long enough to show that you made a valuable contribution to the relationship
He probably know that baby ain’t his, he tired of taking care of another man’s kid.
Too bad she assumed she’d just have a free ride.. I agree with above comments.. be independent!! Never depend on a man! Cause you never know. They can make you feel like everything will be allright, til they leave your a**!! They you’re on your own!

she said tyrese called for her to come be with him, and i have reason to believe that,since they have a child together. shes not a citizen so she can’t really find work. and she probably gets prejudice treatment from both races as a foriegn minority women. is he a deatbeat? im not sure, since hes paying 5 thousand a month. is he a selfish person ? i think so because he didnt have to leave the mother of his child stranded in a place she barely knows and asked her to come.
Tyrese does seem full of himself…but I hope everything works out, and Sinnamon you hit my thoughts right on the nail..that baby does not look anything like tyrese..but hey that is not always the case, some kids come out looking nothing like neither one of their parents lol..

NO being an ex-wife does not pay as well as being an wife…. but it does have its advantages…. however not knowing the real situation… just speaking from a former stay at home mom and wife…. i doesnt matter how long you have been with a man or a woman…. when you love them and decide together that you are going to change, develop, and now grow together… and that is stopped for whatevr the reasons…. bcus that man or woman has decided to make such a step….. (side note-we dont knw what this man told ths woman)…. when it ends why should the man or woman not be made whole by continuing in sum form or fashion their current life style…. and i say man or woman bcus there r sum men out here that collect….
during the time that they togethr nriched each others life…when it said and done… i feel the lesser of the two should be made whole… not forever but a percentage based on all factors….. but no man/woman should leave a marriage financially empty…. because no matter how bad it gets…. when you decide to sign that line and you still have a beating heart and you are not a total psycho b@tch…. you walk away empty….

LOL!! Wow. That’s a messed up situation. Something doesn’t sound right though. I bet there’s a whole lot more to this story. Tyrese didn’t even marry her until the child was about 4 months old, (plenty of time to get a paternity test), then had the presence of mind to have her sign a pre-nup. THEN, they don’t last 10 months. Did he marry her just to give her citizenship? If he did, then MAYBE he did try to do the right thing. I blame the both of them really. Why do folks refuse to “put a cap on”? I guess we could blame the alleged “gold digging” mama, but I blame Ty too. At least he’s trying to take care of his child! If she’s a foreigner, she could maybe go back to where ever she came from, maybe she has family there, but then Ty wouldn’t be able to see his daughter as much. The fact that she has no job skills, that could be fixed in time. She can take her tail to school, raise her child here in the states, and live the “American Dream”. In the meantime, if Ty wants his baby girl to stay here in the states, he can either try to get custody and end up paying a nanny, or make nice all around and pay the “baby mama”. I know it sounds wrong to some folks, but come on now! I’m not buying the whole “Poor naive Tyrese got trapped by some pretty foreign girl and now she’s taking him to the cleaners”. It’s 2009, are young men still that gullible?
to me it seems that Norma needs to gain some skills and stop depending on some one else to take care of her. Wake up call you did sign a prenup so if you think about it you dug your own hole. I also think its kinda greedy open your eyes.
