EDDY CURRY TO HEAD TO COURT FOR CUSTODY CASE

Tuesday, Mar 17 , 2009 8:57:am by admin FILED UNDER Lawsuits,R.I.P

Knicks Curry A Cook County judge has ordered NBA player Eddy Curry to appear in court next week at a custody hearing for  his son Noah Henry, whose mother, Nova Henry, and sister, Ava, were murdered in January.

At present, Noah is in the custody of his grandmother Yolan Henry, who would like temporary custody of her grandson. It was Nova Henry’s wish, however, if she were to die, that Curry get custody of  3-year-old Noah.

In a hearing on March 13th, Yolan Henry’s lawyer, Michael Kalcheim, asked the judge to grant Noah’s maternal grandmother custody of the boy until the NBA season is over.

Lester Barclay, an attorney appointed by the court to represent Noah’s interests, expressed concerns that Noah may have some developmental delays while in the care of his grandmother.

Fredrick Goings, 36, of Chicago, an attorney and former boyfriend of Nova Henry, has been charged in the killings.

Our once-great city has become such a dangerous place;Nova and Ava’s deaths were so senseless. I hope Eddie Curry and Mrs. Henry will reach a mutual custody agreement so there won’t be a bitter custody battle. Both families need time to heal from this tragedy.

I love you Lonnie, and I hope that you get to stay in Noah’s life. I hope Eddy does right by Noah, if he does win custody.
