UPCOMING:11-YEAR-OLD MINISTER JARED SAWYER
Young Jared is like any 11-year-old boy. He loves to play sports and he loves to hang out with his friends. The difference between Jared Sawyer and his peers, however, is that on Sunday mornings, he goes from the playground to a pulpit. But Jared isn’t an altar boy; he is a licensed preacher who preaches every Sunday in front of hundreds of worshippers! See a video of Jared at work(at ten years old)

I agree.
Initally, I raised my brow and questioned…but I also had to remember that Jesus himself taught amongst men at TWELEVE! Amen!

I don’t doubt that there is a call on this young man’s life. However, being called does not mean one is ready to walk in said calling. I think he’s been allowed to step out (or he’s been pushed out) way too early. He’s not even clear about how the call came. Again, I’m not doubting the call I just think he’s nowhere near ready to walk in it.

I think that it is a blessing that this young man is in love with God. Whether or not his mother is spoon-feeding him everything, I say do it. It is amazing how people complain when children are preaching, and doing spiritual type things, and think that they are being brain washed, but when other children’s parents take them to movies that they should not see, listen to music that they should not listen to, and the children emulate those behaviors, one barely hears complaints about those children wanting to be like certain negative behavior type celebrities. I believe that whatever a child wants to do, the parents should provide encouragement. If a child wants to be a doctor, provide medical tools, a teacher, provide books, and a preacher, give the child the Bible, and help them read it. I guess people are forgetting that this young man is eleven-years-old. Therefore, he is old enough to make a decision like this, knowing that he wants to be a preacher. Obviously, he has had a positive spiritual role model. I have first hand knowledge that desires like these do take place, because I wanted to be a preacher at a very young age, and people would love for me to pray for them. As a matter of fact, I still wake up every morning and read my Bible. I have read the entire Bible four or five times, I know every Bible person’s name, topics, and any other questions that one may have in regards to understanding the Bible. I read the crumbs as well as the meat. For those who may not believe that it is possible for a child to be called by God: 1 Samuel 2: 18-19, King James Version “18 But Samuel ministered before the LORD, being a child, girded with a linen ephod. 19 Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.” Hannah could not have children, and she prayed to God for a son, and promised God that she would give her son to Him. The priest Eli prayed for Hannah, she had a son, after weaning him, she gave him over to God. God began to call out to young Samuel during the night, Samuel was scared and told Eli, Eli told him to go back and the next time he hears the voice, the child should say speak Lord, your servant is listening. Therefore, God does talk to children. As a matter of fact, in order to get to Heaven, one has to have a child like personality, which means, easily to forgive and forget. Jesus was 12 when He first started ministering to others.

Ok Samuel was not allowed to serve in the role of a priest until he came of age. he was used however to deliver a message to the priest. He was to deliver the message to the priest only…Jesus DID NOT minister until he was 30, he was questioning the priests and scribes in the temple at 12, he was asking questions and yes challenging them on their answers but in terms of ministering this did not happen until he was 30 years of age. CONTEXT CONTEXT CONTEXT…..

My point was, God does talk to children, and they can be led by him. Therefore, I knew what I was trying to convey. When I said that he can know whether or not he wants to be a preacher at the age of eleven, I still believe that. Thanks for the correction, but I did not need any correction. I knew exactly what I was stating. As a matter of fact, in order for Jesus to question the priests, He had to have first hand knowledge of what He was speaking of, so thanks for adding more information to my point.

One more note, Jesus told the people that he was doing His father’s business, which we all know that His father is God. Luke 2: 45 – 49 45And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. 46And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. 47And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. 48And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. 49And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business? Therfore, ministering has more than one meaning, I was speaking of ministering as in “A person serving as an agent for another by carrying out specified orders or functions” (The American Heritage Dictionary), not what you are thinking, “A person authorized to conduct religious worship; member of the clergy; pastor.” Once again, Jesus was ministering at the age of 12. I did not need any corrections.

I forgot to provide evidence to my point. Jesus told His parents that He was doing His father’s business, which we all know that His father is God. Like I said earlier, Jesus was ministering at the age of 12. I did not need to be corrected.

I watched this video, and several others involving this child and other children, including a 2 year old that “entertained” the adults in the room with his “preaching” for a homemade video. I get the feeling that parents of these children are seeing dollar signs and a life on easy street. If these children are being called by God to preach His word, to guide His flock, then they should receive all of the experiences and knowledge available to them in a way that supports mental/emotional/spiritual health, and life balance. Children should eat, sleep, play, and be allowed to interact with other children, in addition to school, chores, etc.
Even if this child is dedicated to his calling, his parents (parents being there to guide and temper life experiences, dreams, etc) should provide those guidelines that allow this young man’s life to be balanced. If he learns balance now, it may save him from a meltdown later. Let’s not forget Jim Jones, and others like him. Child genius? Maybe. Called by God? Perhaps. However, the fact remains that he is a child.

He is wonderful striaght out of the mouth of babes…The Lord Loves Us deeply. The devil tries to bring us down but do give up or give in. To anyone who is reading this message know that their is nothing to hard for God. Even thought the devil tries to throw small and many problems in your way know that the Lord our Lord is much more powerful and he will make everything okay.

Wow, its such a shame to hear all the negativity about such a good and positive thing(young children wanting to live for God/preach). I believe that if we would just encourage them to continue to do good and want to do good and help to guide them, that would go a long way. Would it be better if they were wanting to be or training to be gang members and/or getting prepped to live a life of crime, etc.? Is that the norm? Children are so smart and advanced these days so when I hear of a 10-yr old or 11-yr old living for God and doing a work for God, it doesn’t really surprise me. God’s work doesn’t have an age limit on it. I don’t ever recall reading anything like that in the Bible. Jesus came and broke traditions and laws that were made/set by men, so why are we trying to set/make laws or rules as to how old a person has to be before they live for God and deliver God’s word?
Matthew 19:13 says, Then some children were brought to Him(Jesus) so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. 14But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (New American Standard Bible)
Jeremiah 1:4-5 says Now the word of the LORD came to me saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
God is still the same God as He was back then, He is still consecrating and appointing people(children) to do His mighty works.
God can speak to and use anyone at any age to achieve and accomplish His purposes in His timing. These children are the future, and I personally would much rather see God-loving, God-fearing children coming up than a generation that doesn’t have a fear(reverence) or respect for God or anyone whatsoever.
We should pray for them and help to encourage them because it is definitely a good thing for a child to want to do Kingdom work, even at an early age.

He may be too young to preach ? I don’t think so – or it may just be that none of us including Jared will be here by the time he turns 12 – we need to hear this now, not when he is 18 with all the cares of the world on his shoulders. It seems its okay for a child to preach the doctrine of climate change but when he opens his mouth to encourage people, to give good news he is put down – we should be praying for him. He is a child, as we all are, but he is Gods child – and not all of us can say that.
