Little cutie. He’s getting so big.
Adoption is such a wonderful thing… but should she be adopting right now? With the divorce, the kids getting use to the move, their parents seperation, her dating new men…it doesn’t seem like a good time to bring another child in. MOO
I guess she knows what’s best for her family (better than me anyway). I can’t wait to see the new little one
Oh and David is so funny! I love his facial expressions.
No matter what we may think of celebs adopting foreign children, we all have to agree that they give them new life…a chance to survive when they may not have.
I love all my black people. But it warms my heart to see a dark skinned kid being talked about in the celeb media. It shows the world dark babies are BEATIFUL too.
It’s good that he will have a sibling that looks like him. Angelina Jolie said she was going to do the same thing for Zahara but never did.
I feel you on that Blue! While I’m excited that little David will finally have a sibling from his country of origin, it makes me question if this is the right time. Its all happening so fast, especially considering the cross country move and the impending divorce. Then I wonder if its fair at all for celebrities to be able to expedite an adoption because of $$ and status.
I’ll give Mama Madonna the benefit of the doubt… a woman knows how to hold a family together.
If everybody waited for the “right” time to do something no one would do anything. For most ppl the “right time” never comes. So you have to jump in with both feet and pray for the best. Thats life!
He doesn’t need a new sister, he needs a new coat!
Just kidding, it’s great if Madge adopts an African daughter. I’d do it too if I was rich.
Kay if children weren’t involved I would agree with you, but I do hope for the best.
I thought foreign adoptions from Malwai were illegal? I know she had a hard time getting David and the laws have not changed since then. How was she even allowed to adopt David?
I wish BCK would STOP referring to David as David Banda. He has been legally adopted by Madonna and her EX for quite some time now….and thus his name has been DAVID RITCHIE for quite some time now : DAVID RITCHIE, NOT DAVID “BANDA”.
Well spoken Kay, but I do think that more planning, wisdom, and consideration should have been given in this situation and less special treatment.
Here are the facts:
“-Malawian laws on foreign adoptions are said to be illegal ! However each case is considered on its merit. (ie, case by case basis)
-prospective parents are to undergo an 18- to 24-month assessment period in Malawi, a rule already bent when Madonna was allowed to take David to London.
-Malawian rules also forbid single parents from adopting.”
Like I say with anything, I hope her motives are pure and God Bless her for wanting to give someone a better life. I just believe there should be fairness.
I am glad to see more pictures of him having fun, I was a little worried there for a minute. Is that a bump on his head in the front left side? Cute little man.
Thanks for the info ModelChic!
I guess if you are famous and have money you can do and get away with anything.
Lisette, I think Angelina getting pregnant with twins put that adoption on hold .She got pregnant after they adopted Pax an Asian sibling for Maddox. I believe their next adoption will be a child of African ancestry maybe from Haiti, Brazil or Africa. Zahara is 4 so she is appreciating racial differences when they last adopted in 2007 she was ony 2 so it was more important to adopt an Asian sibling for 5 y.o. Maddox to identify with imo
@ Model Chic, I agree with you, and everybody should not assume that because you have money and you are white that somehow these little black kids will have a perfect life, If so you are not living in the real world. I hope these adopted kids turn out well, since they are getting a chance and living a life that most kids will never get to live. But please these people are Human people like you and me, And there is not a nickel worth of difference in people, We are not perfect becasue we have money, It helps. And it looks good on the outside, Only time will tell. I wish them all well.
I love that she is adopting blacks kids. That is all i have to say being a black person that was adopted. We should be thankful that someone like her wants to help the black kids living impoverish countries.I spent 2 years in an orphanage in Haiti i just turned 6 when i came in February 95. I was almost at the age when no one would want me because i was to old. So Dod bless those people who want to adopt black kids.
