Eliza I was thinking the same thing. She does look just like the woman that she is with in the commercials.

Does anyone know what this hair style is called? I think my sister would look so cute with it! Is it just called twists?

I taught Yara when she was younger, in MN. She started out modeling for Target, and then went into acting in several commercials with her mother. They’re both gorgeous, and sweet as sugar. This role could not have gone to a child more perfect!! I love you, Yara!!

She looks like the girl who plays “Tony Childs” on girlfriends. If they ever do a girlfriends movie and bring back tony and her daughter years after she gave birth then this girl would be perfect for the role.

Her parents aren’t super famous, but her dad was Prince’s personal photographer for years and had a book out called “Prince in Hawaii” if I remember correctly. He is a photographer and cinematographer. Her mother has been commercially modeling for years.

Her mother is a model and is also beautiful, they look just alike especially their smiles. She has been in several commercials – McDonalds is the one I remember best, she was playing a princess.

Yara’s mother is Black but isn’t African and her father is of Middle Eastern (Iranian)decent. She has done numerous ads with her mother including the McDonalds commercial, Campbells soup and Tropicana. One of her brothers is in the Tropicana print ad with them. She has been in Target, Kay jewelers, and many other ads. Her mother has been a commercial model for a number of years. Her father is a photographer and cinematographer. Yara and her brother are filming a movie with Samuel l. Jackson. Her parents arent famous like Hollywood type famous, but her father has worked on some pretty big projects and was Prince’s personal photographer for years and had a book publisher a few years ago. “Prince in Hawaii” I believe was the title. She and her parents are really cool down to earth people..

Congrats Yara! This is the beginning of many things.

I mentioned it again because it was incorrect information. And a second post was obviously necessary since obvious that ppl were still assuming Keri is African when she is not. Just because she is natural and darker skinned doesnt make her African.

My daughter Skai Jackson came really close to getting that part in the Eddie film. The last call back was grueling because they had to learn 12 pages of lines. Just like Yara, Skai has been modeling and acting for quite some time now (she’s 7). Her most memorable commercial would be the Band Aid one. I’m just glad that we had that opportunity to audition for it and want to congratulate Yara for getting it.

This Little girl is adorable, and very well spoken for such a young person! What caught my attention was the fact that she looked bi-racial, and my grandaughter is bi-racial. I have also seen her along with her mom in several commercials including: McDonald, ADT, as well as her mom in a Walmart! Her mom is equally gorgeous. Yara definitely looks like her mom. Her mom is Black and her dad is Persian (I believe). Both are in the industry, and both run photography and modeling business’ together. They also have 2 little boys who are younger and model as well!!! Kudos: Mom & Dad!!!!!

This little girl is amazing, walking the red carpet at the age of nine. She is so adorable and an exstravagant actress. I hope she is in more movies in the future. She sounds very educated and sure of herself. She is smarter than me I can tell you that!! I wish her all the best in her acting career!

Yara, whose father is an Iranian-American, is extremely proud of her Persian heritage and makes a point to share her cultural background with everyone she meets and in her free time, enjoys learning to speak Persian, while cooking with her father, traveling with her family, and conducting science experiments (she wants to build a laboratory in her garage one day). Her favorite subject in school is history, where she never tires of learning about the Renaissance.

She began her career at just 6 weeks old, working alongside her mother in commercials and print ads. Yara can be seen in campaigns for Ralph Lauren, Gap Kids, Guess Kids and Disney, to name a few. She frequently has had the opportunity to work with her mother and younger brother, Sayeed Shahidi, in various print and broadcast campaigns. They can currently be seen in the Tropicana “Squeeze” commercial and print campaigns
