GUY RITCHIE: MADONNA IS A LOVING MOTHER
British Film Director Guy Ritchie has issued a statement following the news that his ex-wife’s bid to adopt a second Malawian child was rejected.
“I fully supported Madonna in her decision to apply for this adoption, and I am saddened that her application has been rejected. She is motivated only by being a caring parent who seeks to share some of the advantages and opportunities that her life has given her.”
“Madonna is a fantastic and loving mother who cares deeply about her own children, and children who may need additional help and support. This time it did not work out, but there will be other opportunities and I wish her well in them. She is a great mum.”
Guy and pop star Madonna divorced in 2008 after eight years of marriage and together have son Rocco,8 , and David Banda-Ritchie, whom they adopted from Malawi in 2006. Back in 2006, Madonna and Guy were able to adopt their three-year-old son David because the residency rule was waived. This is the same residency rule (prospective parents are required to to live in Malawi for 18 to 24 months) that prevented Madonna from adopting Mercy James, 4 this time around. Madonna has filed an appeal and will still attempt to adopt Mercy James.

I like Madonna BUT….I think this shows that Madonna is not at all serious about adopting this child. More than anyone else, she has the means and ability to live there for the required time, no problem. Didn’t she want to build a school or something there? Why not kill two birds with one stone? She could live there, build the school, and meet the adoption requirements all at the same time. David could get to know his culture and it would be a memorable adventure for her other kids. But I guess Madonna can’t be bothered to follow rules. On to the next poor country! I hope the little girl didn’t get too attached to her wannabe mom.

I also llike Madonna, BUT….why is she trying to adopt a child that has a grandmother who wants to take care of her. If it’s that important to her to help the child out, why doesn’t she set up a trust fund and let the grandmother keep the child. I’m sure she can find another child without a family.

ophanages over in malawi are different than here. you can actually see your child and when you are able to provide, you will have the child again. madonna is a fool. i used to like her but this whole thing has turned me off. she knew he rules and thought she could just walk into that country and take a child who is already 3 years old and has family there that she sees. maybe just maybe if madonna was lets say flying the family out or going there to keep them in tune with their culture she would get some points but she is not. madonna is sick and thinks she is above all the rules. she always has. it was right for that judge to say something before it got out of control. there are rules there to protect the children. she thinks building some school that forces this kaballah crap on children and bribing the Malawi govt will give her a pass she is sorely mistaken
