Yesterday (April 6th, 2009) Legendary retired NBA MVP player Michael Jordan was elected into the Basketball Hall fame; On the same day, his son Marcus Jordan,18, announced that he will be attending the University of Central Florida to play college basketball. According to his coach, Marcus chose the University of Central Florida(UCF) because “[they]really showed him that they wanted him for more than just his name . . . UCF made him feel comfortable. They wanted Marcus to come in to contribute right away and made him feel like he could make a big impact. They wanted Marcus for Marcus.”

Marcus says it hasn’t been easy being compared to his legendary dad all these years.  “It hasn’t been easy,” says Marcus Jordan. “People are always comparing me to him and saying I won’t be as good as my dad.”

Marcus recently led his high school basketball team, Whitney Young, to a state championship victory. For the teenager, the win was a significant one because it was one win he had over his famous dad.

“It’s the one thing my dad hasn’t done–win a high school state championship,” Marcus had said earlier. “He’s let me know all my life about him winning everything else.

Marcus has an older brother Jeff Jordan who also plays college basketball and a younger sister named Jasmine.

That would be basketball that they play, not football. As a matter of fact, Jeff plays at the University of Illinois
