LIL WAYNE:THE MOTHERS OF MY KIDS ARE GREAT!

Thursday, Apr 09 , 2009 9:41:am by admin FILED UNDER Lil Wayne

lilwayne-daughtermom.jpgRapper Lil Wayne is praising the mothers of his two kids. The rap artist says that with his busy schedule, he is sometimes unable to see his kids as much as he would like to. However, the mothers of his two kids make sure he always gets to spend quality time with his son and daughter-whenever he wants.

Wayne tells Rolling Stone magazine, “The mothers of my kids are great… If I’m calling at three in the morning because I’m in Europe, they’re willing to jump on that call: ‘Wake up! It’s your daddy’.

He adds, “If I haven’t seen my daughter (Reginae, 10) in two months and want to see her, her mum’s packing her stuff up, asking where to send it.”

Wayne shares custody of his daughter Reginae with his ex-wife Antonia Carter Johnson(pictured).  His second child, a son, was born  last year October 22nd. Wayne helped to deliver his first-born son; he says that his son is “the best thing to ever happen to me, next to my daughter.”

Thats beautiful–his feelings towards his son and his daughter, now only if he could clean up his lyrics and produce music worthy of being on the radio without bleeping out half the song. Wayne has so much influence over this generation it perplexes me. How about writing a song about your children, you never know, it might help that 16 or 17 year old teen father!

Alot of people go without seeing their own children for long periods of time, and I’ts not always because they don’t care. Jobs can affect this, and say the kid needs things well the parent has to provide so they make that money. ANd if going out of state means that, than so be it

I feel bad for thinking it, but Ari I thought the same thing. Especially since he seems to give Reginae’s mom more than just child support. Didn’t he finance her party? Still, it’s good that he has such a good realtionship with his childrens mothers. That makes it so much better for the kids.

I thought the same thing about the 2 months, but maybe he means when he’s on tour. Most artist tour for more than two months at a time, and it’s usually impossible to have your kids with you every step of the way. Especially if the parents are divorced, the mom probably has full custody, so he can’t just take her and leave for 2 months. Also, she has school and all that.

2 months is not a long time based on his occupation. Down here in the south many men work off shore. Friends and family of mine have gone 6 months without seeing their fathers (who are married to their mothers, mind you). No one blinks an eye b/c that’s the only life you know. very common in Louisiana. Do what you have to do to provide the best for your child.

Guess it wouldn’t be any different if you’re in the military and have to go on tour. I’m optimistic in thinking that he’s just 2 months without seeing his daughter and not feeling any kind of way about it. Whatever the case…nice to hear everyone getting along.

its good that they gettin along but surely he cud figure out the time difference between countrys an call while the childs actualy awake? it can’t be that difficult
it seems just slightly like he wants his kids to be at his beck and call wen HE wants them
i understand he’s busy of course but wen u have kids u have to try that lil bit harder
its nice to hear a man talkin about how much he loves his kids tho

He sounds very selfish. He could check the time difference when he’s abroad before waking his kids in the middle of the night.

Anna, I was thinking the same thing. Why would you call at 3am knowing that your kids have to be woken up to talk to you? just silly

What does it matter what time he calls his kids as long as he calls them! You people are so superficial with your NON-SENSE! I applaud his kids mothers for being adults and sending his kids WITHOUT hesitation to see him while he is away. He is out there supporting his kids. Knock what he raps but you DUMMIES still buy the cd’s though.

BIG UP TO LIL WAYNE FOR BEING A WONDERFUL FATHER AND PROVIDER TO YOUR BABY MOTHERS. THEY DESERVE EVERYTHING THAT YOU ARE DOING FOR THEM AND THE CHILDREN, SO STOP THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT THE MAN. YOU GUYS ARE MAD BECAUSE YOU CAN’T BE IN THERE SHOES.

At least he is speaking respectfully about these women and acknowledging their role as mothers. And at least he is speaking publicly about being a father. Much of the time we are shocked to find out that rappers are parents or married because they hide it.

y does everyone assume celebrity and role-model are synonymous. the jobs are not interchangeable, nor a requirement. it’s not lil’ waynes job to raise ur kids…it’s YOURS. if u don’t like his music, don’t listen to it. when rappers were 1st accused of misogyny, i spoke w/my then teenage daughter. she said since she knew it didn’t pertain to her, it was immaterial. i heard someone say “it’s not what they call you, it’s what you answer to”. also a good parent sometimes has to honor legal commitments…like being on ther road for 2 months…DUH?

p.s. my little girl is now an attorney and i’m no spring chicken, in case u were wondering.

Everybody’s downing Wayne because he ain’t seen his child in 2 months or when he calls but atleast he calls at least he makes an effort, look at his job. Some people i know live blocks away from their kids, with no job an don’t see them at all.
