She has been compared to the likes of Supermodel Naomi Campbell and former Supermodel Tyra Banks but some would say that Davanna Booker walks the runway better than most professional models. She recently appeared on the Tyra Banks show;Tyra was so impressed by the child model that she said:“I’m going to have you on America’s Next Top Model because I think that you can show my girls a little something.” At only 9 years old, “Diva” Davanna is taking the modeling world by storm. She has already appeared in over 200 fashion shows but she remains humble.

…Some of the biggest things I love to do is, enjoy playing with my twin sister
Dejohnna & older sister Ashley, attending school & church.

hmmm…. not quite sure what to think on this one, a little perplexed! I must say however homegirl is serious about this thing.

  • Midnite says:

She can walk that cat walk, Like Naomi and Tyra, I hope she can get a contract and her Mothers makes sure she keeps on track. I saw her crying on the Tyra show, I think she was nervous. But she has talent. God Bless

  • Caratime2 says:

am i the only person having HUGE problems seeing a 9 year old strut around with her hands on her hips in high heels? theoretically, i have nothing against young children modeling - as long as it is age-appropriate. i am strongly opposed to sexualizing young(black) females.

    jon-benet ramsey redux?!?!?

  • Kiki says:

Hmmm, I believe in supporting our kids and buliding them up but this is a bit much.

  • GEEKCHIC says:

i think this is a bit much. I’m all for children modeling but what happened to gerber like campaigns?

  • Jae says:

Ok, so yes, the girl can strut her stuff.. and yes, she’s cute! BUT SHE’S 9!!! something just didn’t sit right with me watching this little girl do what ADULTS are suppose to be doing.
I think it’s great that she seems so confident in herself, but she belongs home, playing with her toys!
I’ve been told a few times I should get my daughter into modeling, and I know they can make a ton of money, but it’s just not my thing. I like my babygirl home, safe with Me! When she is older, if she chooses to do that, I’ll support her, but for now, she’s going to be a kid!

  • Maryamb says:

Ok I agree. This is a bit much for me as well. I think children should be children as long as they can. I am all for encouraging the kids to do what makes them happy but something like this should wait until she is at least a teen. I wish one of my girls would walk out of here wearing some of the things she had on.

  • jojodove77 says:

I’m so glad to see that there are still some responsible people who have decent values and a sense of right/wrong…in this day & age of “anything goes” that is quite refreshing…
To echo the sentiments above I also think it’s wonderful to encourage this child to pursue modeling since she has a natural talent and interest BUT something seems terribly wrong with her doing so while dressed provacatively with adults yelling out things like “fiiiiiiierce”, “work it diva!” (and that’s on the tame end)…the INNOCENCE of childhood should be held in higher regard.

  • max says:

aww I saw on Tyra she was working it! She has a twin!

  • indiaelle says:

aww Work it lil mama, I dont not think she is too grown. It’s the same thing beyonce was doing at her age. She’s showcasing her talents. I wish her all the best!

  • Blue says:

    IMO this is too “grown.”

That aside…she works the runway better than most of those so called professional models.

  • Midnite says:

It’s going to be up to her Mom to protect her, and not let her daughter be exploited.

  • ce says:

I am with supporting children and their dreams but she should model clothes for little girls. She should model for baby phat girls they clothes are cute.

  • cathy b says:

I think she should model cloths for her age group and not all that stuff cuz it makes her look to grown, plus she doesn’t need any makeup on at all she is 9 yrs old. I think her mom is living her dream through her daughter!! all that screaming work it and that other stuff what n the WORLD!!

  • Lisette says:

Cute walk but um she needs to wait until she’s about 13.

  • ModelChic says:

Ok…. I don’t quite know what to say about this little girl. Of course, I will start with the obvious: YES! She is bona-fide fierce!!! However, I HOPE she doesn’t miss out on an innocent, blissful childhood, on account of something that she can still do when she is much older. If this girl does everything now, what will she have to look forward to when she is older?
I also hope that her parent or guardian shields her from harsh realities and tough criticisms that a 9 year old shouldn’t have to endure.
Speaking from experience and not hearsay, the modeling world will separate you from friends, schoolwork and is a huge sacrifice overall. Granted, I am no Naomi or Giselle, but I have done print modeling for 7 years )13-19)and it has put me through 4 years of college. I wanted to model so badly but my parents made me wait until I became a teen… wisest decision ever!!

Wow!! I go on vacation and BCK gets a makeover!! Lovin’ it, lovin it! :)

  • Teri says:

There is no mistaking that this child can work the catwalk; however, I agree with the majority of you - this seems a little too grown for me. When I saw her on Tyra, I thought the same thing. Children grow up so fast. I know that when we were kids, we played dress up, but this is a little too much in my opinion. Childhood is so fleeting so children should enjoy it while it lasts.

  • SUZ(*Ti Amo*) says:

She is talented, and beautiful.Especially her eyes.

  • RP says:

This is part of the reason why the US was ranked so low on the list a best places for a child to live. Forcing a child to grow up before they are ready is very unhealthy and creates problems later in life. Let a child be a child!

  • MS.KIM says:

CONGRATS LITTLE DIVA U ARE ON YOUR WAY DON’T LOOK BACK JUST PRESS FORWARD,IT’S ALITTLE HARD FOR SOME TO UNDERSTAND BEC.THEY HAVENT WALKED A MILE IN YOUR SHOES.YES IT’S TRUE YOU DON’T USUALLY SEE YOUNG CHILDREN ON THE MODELING SCENE LIKE THIS BUT DAVANNA IS PERFECTING A CRAFT YHAT WILL TAKE HER FAR IN LIFE.I AM PROUD OF HER AND I KNOW THAT HER MODEL SISTERS ARE PROUD OF HER TOO,WE NEED MORE POSITIVE STORIES COMING UOT OF OUR AREA.KEEP ON WALKING DAVANNA WE WILL SEE U WHEN U REACH THE TOP.LOVE YA MS.KIM

  • tee-tee says:

    yeaahhh davanna,don’t stop keep mvin forward,don’t forget it’s not what u do it’s how u do it,love real-t

  • Faye says:

Nah, I’m not feeling this. I checked out her website and I just think that she’s being led around by a bunch of adults with stars in their eyes, that they’re living vicariously through her. “Diva” Davanna? Come on, she’s 9!

  • lisa says:

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! This is disturbing on so many levels…

  • mina says:

I don’t see anything wrong with it as long as she wants to model and she is supervised by her parents. I am not a fan of beauty pageants but modeling children’s clothing seems fine. She is a natural and could be famous in a few years.

  • ModelChic says:

One question: How does a child have a myspace?? I dont care if somebody else created the page or not… it is CLEARLY for a 9 year old girl… a breach of myspace rules and regulations which suggest that one must be 14 to create and maintain an account. I hope her parents aren’t trying to cash in on her or have too many ‘family friends’ in their lives. Let Jon Benet Ramsey be and example of what not to do.

    • Blue says:

There are so many myspace pages set up for children (run by the parents of course). The parents use it for networking for modeling, acting, dancing, singing and other things in the entertainment field. Alot of people are “discovered” from places like myspace and youtube these days. It also allows their fan base to grow which causes more interest from people in the biz. Had it not been for these sites, many wouldn’t know who Dymond Jazzel or Taylor Dior are (not that everyone knows them now - and you are probably going WHO lol). It does seem a bit exploitive though so I can see both sides of the argument.

  • erykah b says:

i think we should be more worried about underage girls getting pregnant and gettng into drugs than a child doing some modelling. little girls pose all the time an do moel walks wothought anyone showing them, she just does it better than others lol.

i hope she gets tall enough to do catwalk or it would b a waste

  • valencia says:

beautiful yes she is but too grown up I was so lost for words didn’t know what to say but she should definitely take her time
