MALIA AND SASHA ARE SLACKING ON THEIR DOGGIE DUTIES
It appears that first daughters Malia,10, and Sasha,7, are slacking on their doggie duties so first Lady Michelle has had to take over their responsibilities of walking Bo, the Portuguese water dog.
“Even though the kids are supposed to do a lot of the work, I’m still up at 5:15 a.m. taking my dog out. So for everyone who has a child asking for a puppy – you have to want the dog,” Mrs. Obama said on Thursday to a room of congressional wives. “As I do,” she added. “I love my Bo.”
“I got up at 5:15 a.m. in the morning to walk my puppy,” First Lady Michelle Obama added.
For Michelle Obama, not much has changed since moving to the White House. She is still a soccer mom and the girls are still their happy, healthy selves.
“The girls are happy and healthy. They love their school. They’re making friends. They’re getting good grades. They settled in on their typical week. I feel like I’ve never left Chicago. Soccer on Saturday - yes, I’m on a soccer field all day - just like many of you. Slumber parties - we had about seven girls over, screaming and yelling. And we’re shuttling kids back and forth to play dates, just like usual, although now my mom does a little more of the shuttling than I do. I’m glad to have her here.”

I hear you Mrs. First Lady. We broke down and got a puppy last Oct. it was fun @ first for my daughter too:). She doesnt want the reponsibilities either. (Kids LOL).
I love our 1st Lady. She is sooo down 2 Earth :). I understand what she’s saying though. My mom bought my little sister a puppy & I’m the 1 walking & grooming lol.
Kids will be kids, White House or not, who likes doing chores?? and especially walking an energetic dog and picking up after him? I love this family to pieces… so real, so much like you and me.
That’s always how it goes, kids want the pet and promise they will do everything. In the end, the real work falls on the parents lol. Bo is so cute btw!
If it’s true she’s walking the dog, I’m not surprised. I wasn’t expecting the girls to take care of the dog. I doubt the girls really wanted the dog to begin with - I think it’s just one of those things that David Axelrod thought of, since, after all, ALL presidents get a White House puppy. But, I could tell when I saw the pictures of the girls and the dog, that they just didn’t seem like they were comfortable, because I’m not comfortable around dogs, too, so I know what it’s like. I’m glad that at least someone in the family is walking the dog, though.
IDK, but for some reason when I’ve seen pics of the girls and the dog, they didn’t seem to gel. It just appeared as though the kids didn’t mesh w/the dog. Of course, this is from my point of view so I could be wrong.
Maybe they should have started out with a goldfish or something. Kids! lol
I love dogs, but I do not want to carry their weight for them. Whe nnone invests in a dependent animal, you become its slave. Sure an animal is alot of company, but they should have had another child, aleast in the long run that would be a good investment. All in all, I hope the First Family enjoys their cute little doggy.
