After spending an earlier part of Saturday(May 2nd) happily shopping, Halle and her daughter Nahla decided to grab lunch at Barefoot restaurant. A rather unhappy looking Halle, along with baby Nahla, later emerged out of Barefoot restaurant to find a slew of reporters awaiting them.Halle, who has said in past interviews that  “she can’t stand the paparazzi,” was visibly upset at seeing the paps outside of the restaurant.  Before heading to her awaiting vehicle, Halle shouted at the paps to back up:  “This is my child. Back up!”

BCK Says: The price of fame is very expensive indeed. What do you think?

There is a price for fame but this is too much. The paps already got a bunch of shots earlier that day when Halle was shopping with Nahla. They wouldn’t even let her get to her car? Talk about rude. The little baby was clinging to her mother because she was so scared. Halle didn’t even take time to strap her into a car seat. They just sped off.

  • Katherine says:

I think that if she is allowing to take pictures that they should at least have the decency and courtesy to let her make it to the car with her child without them blocking her way. Halle always seems like she is respectful of their jobs as paparazzi as long as they keep their distance. I think that situation was ridiculous that they wouldn’t move so that she could get to her car. I enjoy seeing pictures of Halle and her baby but they should respect her personal space and take pictures from a distance.

  • tish says:

I agree. She allows them to get their photos but the least they can do is giver her space and allow her to safely get her child home. I mean how many shots are needed when she’s not doing anything different. She has allowed photos of she and the baby, now allow her to have some peace of mind by moving back and moving along.

Sheesh. I NEVER want to be famous. Or infamous for that matter.

  • Jheanel says:

its cute to see her with her child but its definitely impersonal. It felt stalkerish in the beginning. Not to be ignorant, but I thought it was funny how “Shaniqua” came out when she was saying “back up, this is my child.” I had a flash back of “Baps.” lol

    • DEBRA says:

I don’t think she would have cared too much if she wasn’t with her child. Children are so innocent and the PAPS should be sensitive to that. I’m sure they have children of their own. How would they like it? They should have that much more consideration when children are involved they are not use to all of the attention of having cameras flashing in their faces and vast amounts of people. LAY OFF!!!!

  • Resse says:

There should really be some sort of law in America like they have in other countries. People shouldnt be able to stalk these people (yes… celebrities are people with lives)to the point where it is a huge nuisance and invasion of privacy.

  • Teri says:

When it comes to a mother and her child, you don’t play. The Mother Bear comes out and you (a good parent) would hurt someone that you even THOUGHT was endangering your baby. You don’t mess with a mother or father and their child. Good grief. This poor baby doesn’t know anything about all this mess and she senses that her mommy is upset so naturally she’s going to be scared and upset, not just at the flashes of the camera, the strangers invading her and her mommy’s territory, but knowing that her mama is upset. That’s enough to make any child anxious. Poor little baby. She has to suffer for her mama’s fame. No way, Halle. I wouldn’t trade places with ya, girl!

  • Tee says:

Good for Halle. The paparazzi definitely get way out of line.

  • carta says:

I don’t think they were “reporters” at all - just photographers desperate for a good picture. All they had to do was back up and they wouldn’t because they don’t seem to care about the poor kids. Whatever “price” of fame, Nahla didn’t sign up for it. And I really think we should be asking why the paps thought this was okay to do instead of asking about Halle’s reaction or how much she chose it. Like Debra, I wonder if any of them have little ones at home and if they ever think of them.

  • Teri says:

Newsflash! The Paps don’t care how Halle or her kid (or any celeb for that matter) feels. They are trying to make a living and the only thing they are considering is how much $$$ they are going to get for the next shot. I’m not saying it’s right b/c it’s not, but reality is reality. Fame has its price and one of them is when you leave the house, you risk photographers, fans, and everyone else in your face. Unless Halle moves to Timbuktu, she’ll unfortunately have to live with inconsiderate, self-centered Paps trying to make a buck.

  • n/a says:

I think that what Ms. Berry did was 100% RIGHT.

  • Sweet says:

they shouldn’t be allowed to get within so many feet of celebs’ children. it is and can be very dangerous when a crowd is bomb rushing you. i understand why some celebs get into physical altercations with PAPS

  • krazychika says:

they need to let her breath…dang

  • Big Blue says:

Those paparazzis ought to be ashamed of themselves! Halle Berry is no better than anyone of us! And that poor baby did not ask to be famous. They need to stop taking thousands of pictures of them and respect them like they would respect any other woman with a baby. And the person who videotaped this is just as bad!

  • Blue says:

This needs to be against the law! Photography is my main hobby so I know first hand that the paps could get a crystal clear shot from across the street. Heck with the technology that we have today, they could be down the street and around the corner.

  • Janelle says:

They get crazy with these poor kids. Especially with her daughter and Brad/Angie’s kids. It’s really scary. The kids are almost more popular than their parents when it comes to taking pictures.

  • SUZ(*Ti Amo*) says:

Good job Halle! You tell them.

  • Ashley says:

Omg, her daughter is looking so cute now! I thinks the paps should give her a break!

  • [...] have to say I love me some Blackcelebkids.com, the internet is going crazy with the picture of Halle going off cause she just wants to be left [...]

  • C'est la vie says:

Halle kinda looking like Whitney Houston in this photo.. They better leave her alone–crack is back!!!lol

  • tight2def says:

she DEFINITELY had the right to do what she did

  • Lioness says:

We’re all condemning the paps here, yet we’re complaining HERE- on a celebrity children website that only exists because of the paparazzi. We all come here to enjoy the very pictures of Nahla that these annoying paps obtain. Can’t have your cake and eat it too- the paps are just doing their job. My only complaint- they should have allowed a clear path for Halle to get to her car. They can get good shots of both Halle and Nahla without being in their faces or blocking their way- they should try to be as unobtrusive as possible. So I definitely understand Halle’s frustration there.

On another note, Nahla gets more beautiful every time I see her, such a cutie :-).

  • Cee Mee says:

But if they stopped taking pictures what would we have to look at then? I think the blame lies within ourselves. I am the first to admit my guilt.

  • Lexie says:

I know she needs her privacy–but oh well when she choose to be a star–paps. was in the contract–they cant NOT do their jobs because you want them to stop–thats not putting food on their table I UNDERSTAND HER SAYIN THAT SO SHE COULD GET IN HER CAR–but otherwise i dont agree. AND IF SHE DONT GET THAT BOTTLE OUT THAT GIRL MOUTH ! whats wrong with her–!! she need real spoon fed food- byebye bottles for good now !

  • amy says:

We can’t have everything in life, you can expect to make 14 million dollars a movie be on the cover of national magazines selling your movies then just turn it off when you want to. This is the life Halle choose and you can’t take half of fame, she needs to find a way to make it work.

    • Not Buying It says:

Amy, I totally agree. I love love love Halle; but, this is the price she paid. Those millions don’t come with zero strings attached. Fame and fortune has a price, like everything else in this world. If she stops making movies and injecting herself into the spot light (e.g., being on magazine covers, etc) and move out of L.A. she will be able to transition into a more normal lifestyle. Can’t have your cake and eat it too; even when you’re fabulous and your name is Halle Berry.

  • Anna says:

They photographers were there taking those photos because we are on this website. If you really think it’s so awful don’t look at the photos they took.

I think it’s not a very high price for fame. These people make outrageous incomes by playing pretend. They could quite the business now and would never have to work again. In a few months time now one could care less about them, but they choose to be in the spotlight.

  • DamnSkippy says:

I agree Anna will said :)

  • Naija Gal says:

Yes, everyone is obligated to perform the task that their job demands…paps + famous pics = money…but at the same time, shouldn’t common sense come into play?

Are the paps so money-hungry that they would sacrifice the well being of one child to put food in the mouth of theirs?

I don’t know, it doesn’t sit well with me.

Isn’t there some kind of law that limits what all the paps can do? If not, then there should be.

  • Blue says:

I never said that they shouldn’t be taking photos. I simply stated that they could be across the street and still get a good shot. I understand that they are doing their job, but there is no need to be in the baby’s personal space.

So yes I can have my cake and eat it too lol.

  • Tina says:

I agree with her. That is the price of fame but her child is not the famous one. That was completely ridiculous. It’s basically stalking, laws should prohibit them when it’s children involved. And of course all paps are MALES! Who don’t seem to understand anything. Poor child was terrified. Could you imagine being that young and not understanding all that chaos? And I know that must have killed Halle.

  • Leah says:

do you blame her as a mom?

  • Mina says:

Of course Halle’s fans want to see her baby. Such is the cost of fame. If Halle was not famous she would not be bothered but she probably would not have the big house, expensive cars, Nannys huge bank accounts and all the other trappings that come with fame. Everything in life has a price, nothing is free, and usually only a temporary situation anyway. Hollywood is a fickle place. Therefore, when people lose interest in her Hallie will know that her career is over.

The Baby is darling and looks just like Halle.

  • Leighla says:

Maybe I shouldn’t say this but I will. Mina, your statement sounded spiteful and dumb.

  • lilkunta says:

Leighla: Mina doesnt sound spiteful or dumb, What she said is true Halle’s fame is y she get millions for her movies, has her many houses, cars, jewelry, even has her perfume now.

I think its is very sad that the press wouldnt step back & let her get to her car.

  • HOUSTON HOUSE WIFE says:

OHHHHH WEEEEEEE BLACK MAMAS DON’T PLAY ABOUT THEIR KID LOL……I FEEL YA H.B.

  • Jessica says:

Halle doesn’t seem to mind the paps as long as they keep a distance. But they can’t even seem to do that.

Halle should probably always carry a hat/sunglasses and blanket so she can cover little Nahla’s face if things get to crazy. But I love how she put her foot down, she is not Angelina she did not sell her daughter’s pics and doesn’t publicly flaunt her. Nahla deserves some respect and privacy.

  • lola says:

it goes with the territory………..you gonna be a Celeb unfortunately you gonna have to pay the price….SAD FACT.

  • Shellz says:

Like someone prior said, it is the price you have to pay for being famous. With that said I think there should be a law that the paps have to be a certain distance away from these famous people. I would personally loose it if I had camera’s in my face like that each time I were to go out. It’s really sad & they should be more respectful to the fact that she has the baby with her that was clearly frightened by all the camera’s etc going on.
