12-year-old Jashuan Agosto doesn’t want to be the next Kobe or Michael Jordan: he wants to be better. Jashuan may very well grow up to be better than both Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan; he is well on his way to making a name for himself. So far, Jashuan has already attracted the attention of media personality Ellen Degeneres, the Tacoma Tribune , New York Times, the Seattle Times, the Seattle P.I., and the Oregonian.

So how does  Jashuan spend most of his days?

He spends about three hours dribbling, shooting, defending, jumping. Then he races to another gym 20 minutes away to join his track team for an hour of weight training. Next, Jashaun eats dinner, finishes his homework, and to end the night, he does 200 sit-ups, 200 push-ups and 250 squats.

He’s like this every day. Above all, Jashaun wants to go to college one day so he makes sure to get no less than a “B” in school.

There is no doubt about it, African American children can do ANYTHING they set their mind to do. I love it….keep up the fine work Jashuan.

What a wonderful work ethic for a youngster! I love that school is also a priority and hope it remains that way.

Okay, I’ve heard about this kid three years ago. He has a lot of talent, and there’s no doubt about that. Yea he has a high metabolism, he has skills, and he’s been accepted to colleges already. Yea, that’s right, at the age of 9 he was already being watched by College scouts.

I’m sorry but that kind of schedule for a 12 year old is not great work ethic, it’s ridiculous and it can’t be healthy for a growing boy.

Kids will spend hours doing what they love. Apparently this kid loves basketball and track. My own son has a pretty busy schedule depending on what season it is. And he loves it. Sometimes when he has a few days off he’ll read a book or two, but other days he complains about how bored he is. Better organized sports than tv or video games.

what he is doing is great but to help him out, he needs to stop lifting weights cause he’ll stop growning quicker than usual and have back problems in the future(<-50/50 Chance. Not Certain))

i hope his school work is jus like this cos anything can happen and if he aint got a gud education that aint gud. it shouldnt all be about ball. like Obama said kids should not be brought up thinkin they can make it only if they’re playing all or spitting lyrics.
