FLICKS WITH THE ROCK GIRLS

rockparty2The Journey for Change Global Ambassadors joined the Compton-Rock family in hosting a book party for author/activist Marian Wright Edelman for her latest book “The Sea is so Wide and my Boat is so Small” recently.  There in attendance were the Compton-Rock daughters Zahra Savannah,4, and Lola Simone(pictured),6.

Malaak Compton-Rock, wife of comedian Chris Rock, is the Founder and Director of the AngelRockProject, the foundation which sponsored the book event.

Marian Wright Edelman is the first African-American woman to have been admitted to the Mississippi Bar; she is also the founder and president of the Children’s Defense Fund. In 1973, Edelman started the Children’s Defense Fund, which strives to fight childhood poverty, neglect and abuse, and tries to ensure access to health care, quality education and a moral and spiritual foundation for children.Source

    They are adorable and they look the perfect combo of Mom and Dad!

    However, I worry about girls wearing braids this young because the weight of the braids might be to much on their hair

    But aside from that they look really good on them.

    Is it me or do they kinda look East African?

    I love this man and shall always love him I think. He was so good on the Oprah Show and I look forward to seeing this documentary. Those girls are just precious. They are a perfect blend of both parents.
