American Idol second season winner Ruben Studdard brought his bonus daughter Khobi and his wife Surata along to the American Idol Season 8 Grand Finale held on May 20, 2009 in Los Angeles, California. Seven-year-old Khobi is Surata’s daughter from a previous relationship.

I think that was Essence that interviewed her. She was saying a friend of hers LOVED him & wanted his autograph but couldn’t call off from work. I think he was appearing at a Walmart or mall. She said she wasn’t even a fan but she did her friend a favor & went to get the autograph. When he seen her, that was all she wrote. I know the friend regrets she didn’t take off (lol).
Oh gosh. So just because she isnt dark skinned, she isnt worthy of being liked by him for honest reasons? That’s stupid as all get out. I’m so sick of light skinned folks being seen as the devil. It’s stupid and silly.
It’s folks that think like Ms. Jessica thats the problem, not the men/women who make the decision to date or marry who they darn well want.

Thanks for the answer but its not working. How about daughter period and leave it at that. Bonus daughter sounds like someone he picked up as a prize.
Maybe it doesn’t work for you but it does for many (including the Smith’s as Trey considers Jayda his “bonus mom”).
If this little girl has a father who is very active in her life it is not fair to him to call Reuben her father when he is her step (or bonus) father.
Question… since when is her complexion considered “light?” I wouldn’t call her medium but I don’t think I’d call her light.

JESSICA stop hating. you can look at that little girl and she is absolutley gorgeous. his wife is beautiful too. dark white black pink we all come in different shades of colors and we are all beautiful. we dont need any negative comments. take that elsewhere.

@ Jessica, Did it ever occur to you to think maybe instead of putting thousands of dollars into a suit, Ruben may have put the money in a savings bond. So he can have some money in the future, weathly people don’t put all their money into clothes that will not be worth anything in the future, Besides the suit looks great to me, Ruben just need to lose a little wait again, If not for only health reasons. I wish them well, Great looking family.

Who said that the reason why she is pretty is because shes “light”? Sounds like a personal complex to me……..and yes there are beautiful women of all shades and sizes in the world and we should acknowledge that and stop tearing each other down. Damnnnnn can we put down the paper bag test!!!!
His wife isn’t hard on the eyes but reminds me of Alice the Goon from Popeye & the little girl is cute (to me). I’ve seen some strange looking kids on here but I can’t say that about her.
