Original Story posted on 5/26:Boxer Mike Tyson’s 4-year-old daughter, Exodus Tyson, is on life support and in “extremely critical condition” after accidentally hanging herself with a treadmill cable on Monday morning. Exodus’ seven-year-old brother discovered his sister’s lifeless body hanging from the cable cord and quickly called the little girl’s mom for help. The girl’s mother, who was in another room, responded and took her daughter off the cable, called 911 and attempted to revive Exodus. Responding officers and firefighters performed CPR on the girl.
Andy Hill, Phoenix police sergeant, reports the following: “Somehow she was playing on this treadmill, and there’s a cord that hangs under the console — it’s kind of a loop,” Hill said. “Either she slipped or put her head in the loop, but it acted like a noose, and she was obviously unable to get herself off of it.”
According to Hill, everything in the investigation points to an accident. “There’s nothing in the investigation that revealed anything suspicious,” he said.
Hill said former heavyweight champion Tyson was in Las Vegas when the accident happened but flew to Phoenix immediately after learning of his daughter’s condition. Exodus is at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in central Phoenix.

This is terrible news! I’m really hoping she pulls through without lasting effects. Mike married a doctor a while back, I wonder if she’s the mom mentioned in the story? Either way my prayers and regards are with the Tyson family.

Zee, I don’t think his ex-wife is the mother of the little girl. One article said that Mike and his girlfriend had been living in Arizona for 5 years and they have two children.
Anywho, my heart goes out to this poor little baby. They are so innocent and there are so many dangers. I pray this baby make it through and for Mike, his girlfriend and their family. So sad.

I just read on another site that Exodus Tyson was officially pronounced deceased at 11:45 this morning.
That hurt my heart.

PHOENIX — Police say the 4-year-old daughter of boxer Mike Tyson has died a day after her neck accidentally was caught in a treadmill cord while she was playing at home.
Phoenix police spokesman Andy Hill said Exodus Tyson was pronounced dead in a hospital just before noon Tuesday. Police have said an investigation showed it was a “tragic accident.”
Police say the girl was playing on the treadmill Monday when her head apparently slipped inside a cord hanging under the console. Exodus’ 7-year-old brother found her and alerted his mother.
Former heavyweight champion Tyson was in Las Vegas at the time of the accident and flew to Phoenix on Monday.

Unfortunately, she did not make it and my heart goes out to Mike and his family. I feel your pain, having lost my sister, her son and her step-daughter to a house fire in Atalnta in Christmas 2005. It is a horrible feeling to say the least.

This woman said her 5 year old was playing in her neighbors basement with weights and one crushed her skull. I think it hits more b/c he’s such a big star. The precious life of this baby has been taken so prematurely. So very sad for everyone involved. I just can’t imagine. May her mommy and daddy, family and friends find comfort in knowing that she is in a better place. I pray for them because there is no greater pain than losing a child.
