WELCOME KENZO LEE HOUNSOU, KIMORA AND DJIMON’S BABY BOY

Kimora Lee Simmons and her beau Djimon Hounsou have named their baby boy Kenzo Lee Hounsou. The BabyPhat empress made the name announcement via her twitter page:
“Welcome into the world Kenzo Lee Hounsou. Kimora’s + Djimon’s baby boy was born on Saturday May, 30th. He was 8 lbs and 20 inches.”
Kenzo Lee Hounsou joins his sisters Ming Lee,9, and Aoki Lee,6.
The name Kenzo is of Japanese origin and it means “Wise and Three.” Kenzo is the usual English transcription of the Japanese name Kenzou (pronounced with a long vowel ‘o’). Famous bearers include the fashion designer Kenzo Takada.(Source)

So they went with an Asian name like the girls

how did Djimon win out? The baby isnt named Djimon Jr nor a Benin or French name( Djimon’s from Benin & speaks French).
Plus, Kimora is of Korean ancestry. In the mid 90s her mother Joanne(now going by name Kyoko) started telling everyone she is Japanese…so Kimora is saying she is japanese and giving her kids Japanese names.
..ah well. I hope in private she is enriching them with their culture, whether it be japanese or korean, and now the Benin culture for her son.

I know that there have been rumors about them being married but nothing confirmed. Kimora seems like the type that would share that bit of info with the world. I’m just curious as to why there aren’t any comments about the “baby mamma and daddy” stuff. Does Kimora get a pass?
I was thinking the same thing, I’m not a big fan of baby before marriage, not only is it not a good example to set for her young fans, but its not a good example for her young girls that obviously want to be just like mommy
I think they are married but its not legal in the US. They had a committment ceremony, sometimes you can catch a picture of them both wearing bands on the ring finger.
If they are not married, she is certainly not extempt…but then who am I to judge, nobody!
I thought it had been confirmed? I read that they got married in Africa…not sure if it would be considered legal here? They also said that the girls are calling Djimon the African word for “daddy.”

Well what do we expect a non committed relationship after having children. Honsou is an African and in their culture they strongly believe in marraige before having children. Unlike the men in African American men in the U.S.

just got one problem with one of the comments on this page - Africa is not a country,its a continent with FIFTY-THREE different countries and hundreds of languages. there is not just ONE way of saying ‘daddy’ in Africa…i know this primarily a ‘black’ site but as an african american( i assume u are) read up a lil’ on the ‘mothaland’ before writing something lke that
