I love her style for the boys. I have the same taste in style but my price tags look more like this:

    short- sleeved madras blake 14.99

    classic mesh polo 14.99

    cotton roundhill shorts 14.99

    chuck taylor allstars 14.99

Just being frugal and I love it.

My kids don’t wear designer brands to look good….they run around all day and they grow out of clothes so quickly. So, I don’t spend an arm and leg for my kids clothes. The money goes towards a college fund. Monica can definitely afford it. Anyway, I thought Monica had her own children’s clothing line…Rock of legend or something like that.

      - arm and a leg?? $15 for a shirt/shoes/or shorts?…..seriously??

      - im not one for wasting money with kids and designer brands either, but POLO and Converse while they could be labeled as ‘designer brands’, i would put them more so in the category of a quality brand along the lines of a Levi or Dockers (just as an example, you get what you pay for).

      - and while POLO does have some expensive retail prices, with half an effort you can easily find 50%-75% off sales out of season emailed or coupons mailed directly to you from their website.

      - i wouldnt purchase a $35 shirt for a kid to tear up or grown out of either, but you can find most of that stuff online @ $9 and $15 an item.

Awww I use to dress my son like this (minus the shoes). I tried up until now but he’s no longer feeling the colorful button down shirt.

I’m feeling Monica on the way she dresses her boys!! As African American people we are soooo quick to put our little boys in gangsta gear, oh excuse me; typo, I mean urban wear!!

My son is 12 now and I’ve dressed him in what I’ve coined as Urban-Preppy since he was a baby!!

Preppy with Urban flavor (come on now, he’s still a black man and I need him to be confident as a strong and powerful black male).
He now has his own style (which I encourage, he can’t stay on the nipple forever, ladies!!) and wears his own version of Urban-Preppy!!

Good for you Monica!!! You don’t want your boys running around looking like their on the yellow bus with their daddy!! What? Sorry!
