MADONNA TO ADOPT MERCY AFTER ALL?

Tuesday, Jun 09 , 2009 1:04:pm by admin FILED UNDER Madonna

madonnamercyPop star Madonna will reportedly be able to adopt 4-year-old Chifundo “Mercy” James(pictured) after all.

Madonna’s lawyer, Alan Chinula, has persuaded three Malawian appeal judges to reverse a previous ruling which prevented the pop star from adopting Mercy. The singer’s adoption application was previously rejected in March because she didn’t meet the Malawi’s 18 to 24 month residency requirement.

So what persuaded the appeal judges to now rule in Madonna’s favor? The government has found Madonna to be ”a worthy mother” because she has poured thousands of dollars into building a day care center in Malawi.

The official court ruling will be announced next Sunday at Malawi’s Supreme Court of Appeal.

How in Heaven’s does giving away money prove that she is a good mother? If this really is their reasoning for seeing Madonna as a “fit” parent, how many other cases went the same way? How many children have been sent to abusive families all because they threw money at the country? Since when does money mean that you can parent well?

Ugh…this just upsets me to no end! Do they even care about the safety of the children, or is the potential harming of a child ok as long as they have money?

Hopefully Madonna is the mother that she appears to be(though some things that she has done make me question her judgement) and not the one that her former employees claim.

DASHAYNA: It wasn’t Joan Rivers it was Joan Crawford. This little girl will live a life of Priviledge, let us be happy for Mercy.

    NewYork,
Material things are not most important in a child’s life. There are lots of “privileged” kids in Africa.

At blue who is to say that madonna abuses her children. They all seem to be well taken care of. I am happy that the little girl will be offered priviledges and other opportunities of having a better life style and a more promising future.

I NEVER said that Madonna was abusive. I said how many cases have there been where a parent IS abusive and was awarded custody due to them giving money to the country.
