KELIS WANTS TO HAVE A NATURAL BIRTH

Singer Kelis is “tryna do [the] natural birth thing”. The singer, who is due in five weeks, has already met with her first doula but she feels a bit uncertain as to whether or not she will actually go through with having a natural birth. She said via her twitter page last week, “Yeah so tryna do natural birth thing not cause I’m opposed to drugs . Actually quite the contrary I won’t even say how contrary (past) but I feel like in light of all that’s happened in my life past few months I would feel like I could conquer the world after that… seriously i dunno; we will see what happens.”
Kelis, who has been under media scrutiny in the past few months, filed for divorce from her estranged husband, rapper Nas, in April of this year.
I was suprised he stayed with her as long as he did…

Way to go! I had both my children with no meds (no epi, no pain), and it was awesome and easy going!
You go girl but when I had my 2 kids I had to get down with the mordern medicine…… they invented pain relief for a reason!!!
I think that she can do it. I had natural birth with all of my children.

Either way she should realize that it is ok if she does have to use meds. It doesn’t not reflect her future ability to parent.

Well we’ll see…being an RN I’ve seen plenty women have this NO MEDS thing as a birth plan but it quickly goes out the window right at about 4cm. Good luck to her anyway.

I had both of mine natural, the first one by choice, the second came to fast for medicine…lol
I had a natural birth but not by choice LOL, when I went to my doctor’s office I was already 7cm’s yet hadn’t had any contractions…that I felt of course but when them puppies kicked in they kicked in!!
I can say glad to have had that experience but if I had to do it and choose drugs I would!
Good for her! I wanna go ‘ole natural when I have children as well.
