REV RUN: “WE HOPE TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO SEE THE VALUE OF BEING A FAMILY”
Run DMC’s Rev. Run says that his family won’t fall victim to reality television curse. He says of media scrutiny,”You can let this thing destroy you or you can take it and inspire.” In fact, Rev Run hopes that his family show, Run’s House, which stars his wife Justine and their children (Vanessa, 25, Angela, 21, JoJo, 20, Russy, 12, Diggy, 14, and baby Miley, 1 ½), can inspire others.
“We’re not extremely ambitious to be these big stars,” Run tells People. ”We hope to inspire people to see the value of being a family.”
In season 6 of Run’s House, Jojo, Run’s oldest son, gets arrested for drug possession. The episode will show the Simmons’ family going through a challenging time and then “pulling together” as a family. Rev Run hopes that Jojo’s story will be a learning opportunity for fans as well as for Jojo.
“When JoJo goes through his situation, I bring the cameras in,” says Run. “We’re going to take the fans through every tough time to show them how to pull together as a family.
Season six of Run’s House premieres on MTV today(June 15th).

Blah Blah Blah. No one believes that fake crap they are trying to sell and the show is scripted just like every other “reality show” on MTV.
Even thought I really like Run’s house, it does seem to be very scripted. They are a great fam though.

scripted, real or whatever, this show is a positive image. before jojo’s run in with the law, no one could say ANYTHING negative about them…and even with the trouble jojo recently had, i still look at them as a positive image of blacks on tv. i think some people don’t remember that run’s house was showing a unified black family at the same time bobby brown and whitney houston came out with their reality show “being bobby brown.” bobby and whitney were on camera actin a fool while run and his fam were representing dignified blacks. so they will always have my respect for that reason alone. i’d rather see this show ANY day than to see flavor flav and random women cooning on vh1, black married mothers cutting up on “housewives of atl”, bobby actin like he needs a hit and all of these other terrible and degrading black television show. yay for run’s house lol!

I think its a great show and I was so angry that I had to miss the first episode last night because I had to work but I know I can catch it tonight. MTV never fails with the re runs.
We need more positive, family shows on TV! Run’s House is one of a very few.
I want to be adopted into the runs family I love everything about them they are not perfect but no matter what they always remeber that they are family..I just love rev as a dad its wonderful……
