Reality star Antonia “Toya” Carter, the ex-wife of rapper Lil Wayne, is opening up about her private life in a new interview with Sister2Sister magazine. In the interview, Antonia talks about her daughter Reginae Carter’s relationship with her father Lil Wayne, her relationship with the rapper and so much more! Here are a few highlights and pictures from the interview:
Toya on Lil Wayne’s relationship with his daughter Reginae:
“At one point, they hardly used to talk, and now he makes that a priority. [He] Calls her every night and wants to know what’s going on with school. He calls me. Whether he’s in Europe or wherever he may be, he’ll call and see what’s going on with her. He keeps in touch. He always keeps a good friendship with me no matter what he’s doing. With his daughter, he’s there financially. He’s a great man.”
On how Reginae reacts to her daddy being one of the biggest rapper in the world:
“Oh, she’s sucking it all in. She’s loving it right now. She’s loving the attention. I keep moving her schools and stuff because she’ll go to school thinking she is just, whuu!”
On how she will keep her daughter grounded:
… “I took her out of Christian school and I put her in another school, but now I’m going to put her back in Christian school because I ain’t having these problems; them people don’t know nothing, you know?”

What in the world is she talking about in that last quote? It doesn’t make sense. Please put the child back in private school so that she can formulate a complete, coherent sentence.

Let me take a stab at it…maybe she means that the staff at the christian school don’t have a clue about who Lil Wayne is. Whereas in the regular/pubic school every one knows Lil Wayne.

I think that’s what she meant, but it makes absolutely no sense to say that people at a Christian school wouldn’t know who Lil’ Wayne is. I’m a Christian; we are not out of touch with society or reality…at least most of us aren’t.

I don’t think she mean’t the knowledge of Lil Wayne at all. She really, I believe, think she mean’t academically. She said in the last quote that she was putting her BACK in Christain school; because she is not having these problems. She probably mean’t behavior wise. Private schools go by their own rules, less students, less behavior problems, therefore more time and quality for some great learning. And she realizes she could use more education too, so she wants the same for her daughter.

Umm I think she ment the public school don’t noe nothing, like there education status is lacking. Which is true. But the problems is her daughter clearly, she riding her dad’s coat tail. I want to know, what makes you think they ar expoiting her? Do you have facts? Proof even? And how can you open up your mouth and say she is not being taught morals/ Please do yourself a favor and read the article in Sister to Sister. Clearly you are misinformed. Seems to me, you are trying to punish her for some of the things that her father has done. And why would you say, they were trying to get a school to teach them something. Wow! Toya may ave felt that it was best for her at the time. And maybe with what she may see, maybe Reginae is bored where she’s curently going to school, and needs to be challenged. You are acting as if she is trying to get a school to raise her daughter. I would say she is doing very very good, because Reginae is smart and mature for her age.

I decided long ago to not spend money on ignorance and objectification of women. We need more voices (as advocates for women) in the spotlight who understand that you NEVER subject your daughters to the kind of degrading lyrics that Lil < Little Wayne and his boys subjected those girls to on the BET award stage. What has the world come to? It is a beautiful thing when parents can provide for their children. However,it is not so beautiful when parents exploit their children, don’t teach them anything with morals and values, and then try to cover it up by sending them to a school or somewhere where someone else can teach them something they should have been taught by the parent in the first place. Schools are not the training ground they are the shaping ground for children.
