i want to scream at those people have too many children (nadia sulyman, mr. and mrs. dugger) and others who shouldn’t be having any at all(drug addicts, teenagers, abusers) when they have them so easily while good people suffer from infertility or have to pay through the nose to adopt. i know no one ever said that life was fair — but that’s UNFAIR and UNJUST and makes me want to cry for all those families who have to suffer. ok, feel better now that that’s off my chest.

yeah but…. let’s not put crazy nadia and duggars in the same category. The duggars provide for their family (even before cameras)and are on the opposite end of the spectrum for reasons of having so many kids.

I would like to thank BCK for this forum and the opportunity to express opinions on not only African American parents and children but families of all backgrounds!!

I have been expressing myself at this site on different topics and some of the responses from other readers/writers have been either negative or unpleasantly provoking against me in a personal way.

I wish bloggers here would stick to the topic focused on at the time, and not internalize and/or personalize their comments when replying.

I realize that one of the reasons we idolize celebrities is because some of us feel they know these people personally, but some writers here feel the need to defend and put down others in response to what people opine about.

These stars have put themselves out there in the public eye for scrutiny, criticism and praise!

I just want to thank BCK for fair and balanced reporting and posting of comments from readers.

We are not here to idolize any child or parent, we are here to comment on the why and whatfors. Just because they are a celebrity in your world from the outside lookin in we what them to know the truth that the inner circle won’t tell them. Parenting is not any easy task and as we follow some of these celebs it just confirms that just because you have money does not mean you have common sense or any sense at all. People need to wake up and realize that rearing a child takes knowledge and wisdom and all the decisions you make will follow them all the days of their life.

I’m desperate to get rid of my tummy-rolls which have been bothering me for ages now. There’s nothing annoying like having to squeeze into my clothes by sucking it in and feeling bit of discomfort. Also, having to face double-sided mirrors in shops whilst fitting and believe me…they never lie.I would be spinning around and checking out the orange-peel and pretending that it’s invisible….lol…yeah right!Gosh…i just want to have a proper stomach with no breathe or suck-in moments. My plan now,to do as many sit ups as i can and see if i’ll get good results.I should say being a woman is very challenging indeed and is by the grace of God that we can manage!

Please do give some suggestions about getting the flat-board stomach!

    • babygirl July 28, 2009 at 8:01 pm

It is challenging to be a woman..well, first, you can’t do sit ups or anything to get rid of the tumy rolls-you have to change your diet…You have to reduce your intake of fats etc…once you do that you can follow up with some cardio and then slowly work your way to the the sit-ups.

i agree with babygirl… but i also have this problem, and i have found pilates to be the best form of exersize to tone my whole body and my belly, i really would recommend it, a lot of celebs use this to get back into shape, find some classes and give it a go. good luck oh and also wearing the right clothes can make a world of difference, i have stopped wearing tight jeans for a while now its just depressing when u are spilling over the top lol

It is apparent that these artists with multiple baby-mothers and multiple baby-daddys are not using condoms. We still live in the age of HIV, AIDS and Herpes. There are still no cures for these diseases that are epidemics in our communities. Also, it is unfortunate that individuals like Akon, Puffy, Lil Wayne, and TI are so cavalier about bringing new life into this all ready troubled world. Their money can buy sex, that’s apparent, but it can not buy peace of mind when their offsprings began to come in contact with the ills of our society. I will pray for them because their parents are behaving irresponsibly and have placed their value in life on quantity before quality.

I see I’m not the only person outraged by the multiply baby mamas and daddies in the entertainment world. What the hell is that about? I think it’s a shame. I know one thing, it only increases the fight over the money when its all over. Kids coming out of the woodwork. Doesn’t seem like these people are practicing safe sex. I feel sorry for the children. Even if your dad or mom is famous you still have to share them with these other illegitimate kids and you always have to wonder if this person you met who looks somewhat like you could be your brother. An abomination.

I have grown quite fond of this site. I love that you showcase the children and introduce us to new stars and their families as well as the very young stars.

While I usually post on political sites, I’ve found this site a refuge for browsing and posting. I appreciate the stories and pictures that you present on the first family and would like to see more pictures and families from out political community as they are celebrities as well. I guess because I would like to see more posts on the state of our politics.

She has the ability to shine light on serious issues of the day that come forth in some of the celebrities lives. This affects society as a whole.

It makes me mad that black people on this website
are so annoyed by biracial people. If an article
states that someone is mixed, like Jamie Foxx’s
daughter who has two seemingly black parents,
then people yell that they are pure black and it
should not be suggested otherwise, when the child’s
mom is likely diluted and mixed up, what’s the big deal?

And don’t say that it’s because society will
still see mixed [black] people as black because
that isn’t true. That’s why a lot of people,
non-black people say Barack Obama is not a black man,
but black AND white. What’s the big deal?

im so tired of black men criticizing women like garcelle beauvais, halle berry, and lisa bonet who are married or have children with men outside they’re own race.

but we more men like kobe, seal, etc with white and women of other races and yet it’s wrong when we comment about it.
but it’s people like kobe and others who are actually getting introuble with these white women not the other way around.

when have you ever seen a black woman introuble with the white man, italian, etc. that they are dating.

it just makes me so sick.

Im just tired of peoples crazy attitude to this world where anything goes and you should just live your life no matter the consequences. Ok thats fair enough but when that blows up in your face and youre suffering dont start whining about how its so unfair and youre being punished. No fool you punished yourself, the Good Book says you will reap what you sow, so get on and live your life but don’t come back crying when its messed up like Hell. Theres always hope for you but take some damn responisibility and LISTEN.

It’s great how BCK allows visitors to the site the opportunity to be interactive and provide input.

BCK gives us the opportunity to see how the other half lives and is also a very enlightening site in more ways than one. And life is just not always positive and rosy, unfortunately.

BCK, have you been noticing how readers have begun criticising and correcting what you post at your website (for instance the recent Jermaine Jackson offspring posted).

I found your comment interesting, Pisces. What do you mean? You are as opinionated as the rest-lol. Also, correcting? I have been coming here for a while and readers don’t correct BCK much except for the occasional birthday mix ups , which is only few and far between and totally understandable. I guess i don’t understand your comment?

      Flag this

  • pisces January 17, 2010 at 2:52 pm

@babygirl…This reply from you is an example of exactly what I meant. You had to “put me in my place” in your response and I wasn’t even addressing you. Doing it under the “guise” of confusion at my comment.

It’s all becoming a re-tread of the same old comments about the same old celebrities.

You asked me what I meant and then you answered the question yourself. Like most of the commenters tend to do. No judgment, just an observation.

I guess to clarify my meaning of my post to BCK (I hope they understood it) in my mind, it’s one thing to be “opinionated” or passionate about a subject as opposed to venting, telling others “off”, and raging at posters or at the site itself.

No harm intended, just expressing MY OPINION. Simply.

Hope this was a good enough explanation for you, “babygirl”.

Thanks to BCK for your efforts at being 100% proactive in highlighting pertinent news about Black celebrities and their kids.
I believe that my comments overall have been more positive than negative, alot having to do with BCK’s presentation… the fun and inspiring way the photographs are displayed, the stories behind the pictures and the occasional interaction with the readers, directly.

All I’m saying is that personally, I could do without some of the comments I read…and I’m sure all participants feel that way at times.

It’s still a lot more tame and respectful relative to other sites I’ve visited.

And I’m going to answer my own question before someone else poses it, I will stop visiting BCK when I get tired of it, which is no time soon! :)

So don’t hold your breath, to those who I apparently “rub the wrong way” with my style of commenting. I’m always trying to be part of the solution…not the problem, but I’m also not going to just let these people here talk crazy to me if I can help it without responding. I thought that’s what a site like this is all about, besides the treat to a glimpse of celebrity life.

    • babygirl January 17, 2010 at 3:55 pm

Hmm, well, my comment wasn’t meant to be negative in any way. I truthfully didn’t understand what you meant, but you have clarified and i understand to certain extent where you are coming from. Nevertheless, i must say(and i think you would agree), in order for any discussion of any kind to ensue, someone has to disagree with you. You make very thoughtful comments on BCk-i have read some of your comments. Although your comments are informative and perhaps very truthful, others may not agree with you and may object by saying things that you won’t agree with. Hence, an argument or discussion will ensue, which is perfectly natural because this is how arguments take place in the real world.

Although BCK does it’s best in filtering comments, i am sure they can’t always filter some of the ones that make their way through. Comparatively, BCK is probably and perhaps the only positive site(where comments are concern) catering to the african diaspora. So am grateful to BCK for trying.

Remember, Pisces: Not every one is as intelligent or eloquent as you. You will always get those who can’t express themselves so they write ignorant comments. Moreover, people hide behind their computer screens. Enjoy your day, Pisces!

@babygirl..I appreciated the exchange very much with you. I’m happy you pulled my coat tail, because I am the first to admit that I have said mean and sometimes cruel things here, too. I acknowledege getting carried away, even to the point of BCK editing or not printing my comments.

That it is why I tried to put thought carefully into what I was going to respond to you.

I value other people’s opinions highly here on BCK (yes evn the so-called ignorant ones) and I know it is just banter for the most part. It’s a place where we can and should feel safe and respected when we all express ourselves.

Thank you again babygirl for your insight and I will very much take it to heart and consideration when I comment, and forgive me if I offended you in any way.

I woke up this morning to a bunch of parents screaming at the President to do something at a hotel to save their children in Haiti. I wondered how low people in our country have really sunk. There are people there digging and working as hard as they can in all the places they can get to to save as many people as they possibly can and to hear Americans yell that they must stop, all of them, trying to save all the other people and concentrate ONLY on finding these American girls. It’s like they feel that there is some kind of plot by the President to ignore their children. What in the world has happened to people of our nation. I want those girls saved too….but please! Are the worker, just because they are Americans, to forget and abandon others until these American girls are found and saved? What happened to good sense? I could not believe what I saw and I could not believe that the media has given this forum to have people demand that the Americans there foresake all others and work only to save Americans. I am so ashamed and so hurt to see fellow Americans act in such an infantile fashion in the face of such a horrible disaster. May we continue to pray for the rescue of all that can be saved in the face of this disaster. Americans are no more or no less important in the fight to rescue these people.

My sentiments exactly! I actually saw these parents several days ago on CNN demanding that the President, “as a father,” do something to bring their daughters home (as if he was doing nothing). One father in particular kept talking about all of his daughters volunteer work in Haiti and how she didn’t deserve to not be found. All I could think was, does ANBODY?

I’m trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because I can’t imagine what I’d be feeling if my loved one was lost…but I can’t see myself being that selfish and having such a superiority complex.

      Andre,
You’re right about not liking that; you NEVER pay for an agency to “hire” you. They need to pay you, whether you’re singing, acting, or modeling. Here’s what I advise you to do.
      1) Start going to some amateur contests (only the ones at night, like dinner theatres). You’d be surprised who’s in the crowd.
      2) Find a way to mingle with high profile people in your city- but do not start any of your conversations about your acting goals.
      3) When all else fails, go to YouTube and get your friends to help you go viral.
      Best wishes!

It seems someone else is always cleaning up our dirty laundry-taking care of us. I applaud the White families whether famous or just ordinary people for giving these children a chance at a better life. Where are we as a people, taking care of our own…………… So many entertainers/sportmen waste money on things. What if ……………

Reading some of the posts over the months really bothered me. It seems that there are double standards being applied to the offspring of interracial couples. For example, no one questions whether Heidi Klum’s (clearly black looking) children belong to her. However, if a black person’s children look totally white (or of another race), a number of folks will swear up and down that those kids don’t belong to them. Why?

Phenotype defines what you look like on the outside. Genes is about your chromosomes. Even though a child might look completely one way on the outside, that child still has genes from BOTH parents. I’ve known a lot of biracial kids to know that you really cannot look at the parents to predict what they will look like when they are born. Most look biracial but there are also some who take after one parent or the other as far as outward appearance, like Heidi Klum’s kids. They don’t even look biracial. I’ve seen kids from black parents who look more white than they do. It’s all about genes… and some outward features that neither parent has could come from an ancestor on one of the parent’s side.

Selective censoring is a nerve racker. I wrote in one thread ‘which one of these two ‘white people’ are black?’ and other tame but off-the-cuff comments and it never got posted. Meanwhile I’ve seen a lot of malicious comments made it into some threads and I’m wondering how they got in there without the ‘benefit’ of moderation.

I’m beginning to believe someone when they said you must BCK must have a personal relationship with some of the stars, so you jump through hoops to keep those comments at level best, while you ignore others. Reminds me of folks in a nursing home – those who get attended to the best are the ones who families comes in often and complains the most.

I like the sight, but shame on you. Everyone really should be treated (and censored) the same, not just the ones you favor.

Hello, NappyKat and to others in this thread. Thank you for your comment, Nappykat. BCK always welcomes all readers’ comments. First and foremost, BCK does not selectively censor any comments. The truth is that BCK is not always able to sift through all the thousands of comments that come through. If ever you should come across a questionable comment, please feel free to email it to tips@blackcelebkids.com. Secondly, please be mindful that comments in general do not post right away. It does take a few minutes, sometimes an hour before readers’ comments post. Thanks!

Big ups to Shauni Davis winning the gold medal for speedskating in the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Just in time for Black History Month commemoration. 27 years old…great!

In watching THE VIEW this morning……IS SHERRI SHEPARD AS STUPID AS SHE APPEARS OR IS THIS ALL AN ACT? Sometimes I just can’t believe her. She’s wearing her hair like the woman on JERSEY SHORE. Why in heavens name would she want to ape anyone on that horrible show?

I love the new promo ads being featured on the site for the new kids dragon movie. The dragon spewing fire out of its mouth is a funny and poignant metaphor for some of the angry people that comment on certain topics. So clever, so smart where the ads are placed, BCK admin.

What’s going on with the Mathew Knowles situation? I heard that dna proved he was the father, but now what? What is the sex of the baby? Is he in the child’s life? How much is he paying for child support, and how dare he step out on his wife let alone get a girl pregnant!!! How disrespectful!

I want to know why the likes of Ben Roethlisberger can go out and rape and pillage women, Jessie James can sleep with multiple women and you hear next to nothing about it, why the media tries to cover things up for the white celebs and when the black male celebs like Tiger Woods, Michale Vick, Michale Jackson, Kobe Bryant are getting tossed under the bus. Right is right wrong is wrong how come there is such disparity amongst the two. Mr Roethlisberger has been brought up on rape charges three times & the media is going through great lengths to cover it up. What Tiger did was wrong but not against the law and you couldn’t hear enough about his transgressions. I don’t get and I think something most certainly be done about it

Is she that desperate for attention? That baby is to young to be out around that many people.

Have any of you had the opportunity to see Viola Davis and Denzel in FENCES? I am so dying to see this performance. If you have seen it tell me about what you thought. Thanks

I like the Kid’s birthday section (mini slide show), but why does it differ each month? Nothing wrong with that. How come each child’s personal mini page they’re on aren’t the same? what i mean is use the same font size and place the name in the same place for each child. If you’re gonna say born MAY… use that for all the kids…it just looks nicer. Maybe put them in order as they fall 1st to 31st…just an idea.

I love this site! I’m not hating :D
