THE BIG KIDS’ FILE: EMMA THOMPSON CELEBRATES SON’S GRADUATION
Actress Emma Thompson beamed with pride as she stood next to her son who now holds a degree in Politics. Tindyebwa,22, who says that he has been from “hell to heaven” ,smiled proudly as he stood next to the people that he now calls his parents.
Tindyebwa Agaba was a child soldier when he was informally adopted by Emma and her boyfriend Greg wise in 2003. At that time, Tindyebwa was a young refugee fleeing genocide in Rwanda.
“He’s such a lovely, enchanting boy so I said, ‘Come and spend Christmas with us’. And he came for half the day. Slowly, he became a sort of permanent fixture,” Thompson said of their first meeting.
After learning to speak English in those few years, Tindyebwa received his GCSEs and A-Levels before going off to college at Exeter University. Tindyebwa studied politics at the University and hopes to be a lawyer one day.

His teeth are so beautiful!
This was such a moving story…if only our US children would appreciate how easy they have it. This is an opportunity available to all of them, if they would only take advantage of it.
I saw this on another site, and am glad you picked this story up, too! Such a heart-warming story. I love Emma - and am happy this family is experiencing such well-deserved joy.
That is great you can see the love and the pride they have in him.
That is amazing God bless them.
It’s a true testament to someone when they can literally come from the bowels of hell and make something of themselves. There should be more people like Emma that are willing to open up their lives, homes and hearts to children such as Tindyebwa.
God Bless her and her family.
Simply Beautiful!!!!!!!!
