WHITNEY HOUSTON: “MY DAUGHTER WAS WITH ME EVERY STEP OF THE WAY”
Whitney Houston has credited her teenage daughter with helping her to record her comeback album.
“She was with me every step of the way: ‘Mom, you can do this.’ When I get discouraged and I get like, ‘This is tiring, this is wearing me out, I’m just not at that point,’ she’d just go, ‘No, mom, you can do this, get up, get up,’” Houston said of 15-year-old Bobbi Kristina in an interview on Tuesday. “She encourages me and inspires me, when I look at her and I look at her eyes and I see myself, I go, ‘OK, I can do this. I can do this.’”
As for why she hasn’t been in the limelight for the past few years, Whitney said, “I kind of got comfortable with being left alone, just being a mom who would take her daughter off to school, and who would pick her up from school. I liked that vibe, I liked that feeling, because I never really had the opportunity. I was always traveling with her all the time.”
Though the singer is set to release her new album I Look to You this September, she admits that she is not “geared” for her comeback.
“I am not geared for it. It goes along with the territory. I’m still going to remain the very quiet, private person I’ve been for the last 10 years,” she said. “I just want to be recognized for my music and for what it does and how it inspires people and how it makes people feel as opposed to talking about Whitney all the time kind of thing. That’s all done, it’s passed and I would just like to be recognized for my music.”

I am so glad to see Whitney back. Her talent was just too much to waste. She looks good and I hope that she is moving higher and higher. I can hardly wait to hear the new music. I wish her all the best and her daughter as well. Do it Whitney.

Sometimes the young have to lead the older ones. I think it’s pitiful, but it seems as if that is the way it turns out for many families. Bobbi-Kristina has seen alot in her childhood that probably made her wiser, and stronger. Lord only knows how much Whitney needed a savior of some kind to come lift her out of that mess she was in and move her along for the good. The two look great together. I hope they shoot for the sky again.
