AKON: “THE MORE KIDS I CAN HAVE, THE BETTER”

“I think kids are a blessing,” Akon told NyDailyNews on Wednesday . “[To set the record straight], I never ran away from my responsibilities and I never plan to. Everything I am doing now is for [my other five kids] anyway, so the more kids I can have, the better. I just love them.”
With five kids in tow, and two more kids under the age of six months, looks like singer Akon is well on his way to fulfilling his dreams of having a big family.
The singer is a father again for the sixth time thanks to a young lady named Susan Owori, who he met while on tour in Uganda last year. As for his baby with Susan, Akon said, “It’s a boy and he’s handsome as hell.”
As for his possible seventh child with Sara Coleman, Akon did not comment.

I’m glad he takes care of what he makes. And before someone asks, his 5th child is a little girl, who is not pictured. He definitely needs to slow down, though. Making children is not like making toys in a factory. He’s an entertainer, so there’s no way he can be there like they need him to be emotionally because he travels a lot.

Thank you! Taking care of a child is more than just providing for them financially or physiclaly, but it includes being there for them, as you stated, providing their spiritual and emotional needs as well.

If he’s that in to making babies and taking care of them, perhaps he should think about settling with one woman. Unless he takes the children to live with him, how can he be giving each child the time he/she needs. What the hell is wrong sith our young folk. They are making more babies now without any kind of committment than they were forced to make during slavery. Did we live all this long and struggle all this long to learn nothing? Damn, just dropping babies off like they are rats and mice. I sure hope we start to move forward sometimes in the future and stop declaring the hot minute love by leaving a child behind. Dear Akon,
Please set a better example for our young black men. Please marry one of the mothers of your children and stay with her for the rest of your life, forsaking all others. Continue to support the children you already have, but its time to behave more responsibly. Why do these guys like to have children they have to go and see, and/or have to mail out a baby-mama check? If you have all your children with your wife you won’t have anyone dogging you for child support payments, and your children will grow up in your house, and under your supervision. Sick!!!

It must have taken a lot of skilled manuvering to get all those boys from different mothers at different locations all together to go to that awards show. It’s great that he’s able to bring them to gether while they’re young. Even nicer that he has the finances to coordinate it.
Hope that Akon has his business together now, because if he dies an untimely death like EAZY-E did, all H*ll is going to break loose between those baby mamas and heirs.

I think he is a sorry example for young men. Dropping babies here and there. Just like you said he must have had a great coordinator to get them all together at one time. I guess as long as the girls get some money, that’s all that matters to them. It’s a trueism “if we don’t know or forget our past, we are doomed to relive it” Now they are letting the brothers make slaves of them. it does sound like a lot of kids. Too many for me, but really what is most important is that you only have a enough kids that you can take care of finanicial and emotions. In addition to providing for there monetary needs you also need to be able to KNOW ur children. If you can do that, i say have as many as ur heart desires. However, a man who is on the road as much as he is probably may have some trouble with the knowing them part. Much more trouble than a man who does not have all of those kids.

I think the days of people being able to have a basketball team of children are over! We have evolved (right or wrong) into a society that is very career oriented and most people can not find all the time they need to appropriately give to a few children more less the squad that Akon has. But are these kinds of PARENTS a blessing for the children? It seem quite selfish and immature to me. And the people who will suffer are these children who are the result of games adults play. If we think that children are a blessing then we should treat creating them in that fashion. It’s time for us to stop giving free passes to men and women simply because they are popular or because they can write a check for milk and diapers. In these precarious times we need to be producing men, not immature boys having their flings and bragging about how virile they are. It’s time for our men to step up to the plate and take more than financial responsibility for the scions that they produce. To produce a muliple children by multiple women, no matter how much money you pay them, is not making you a man or a father. Each child brings with them their own set of uniqeness which needs nurturing and daily care. You can’t do that picking the brood up from many different locations to spend one day a month with them for photo ops. Will the time come that we, as a people, learn from past mistakes? When I look at many of our women it saddens me. Take that woman who has the twins by Diddy. Every child she has is by someone who was popular and she has yet marry anyone of them. But guess what? She cashes in on some really big checks for support. I appears that she only slept unprotected with popular men with long money….pretty much close to prostitution. And if Diddy or any of these other spearm donors ever decide to marry……watch them get a woman who has no children and who hasn’t the reputation of the women with whom they have made the babies without marriage. Life styles may change but value of morals remain when a man seeks a lifetime mate.

I read he had 3 wives. If so maybe thats how he has do many children around the same age. It may not be legal but at least he is commited in some way. Its better than just mein around. It is apparent that these artists with multiple baby-mothers and multiple baby-daddys are not using condoms. We still live in the age of HIV, AIDS and Herpes. There are still no cures for these diseases that are epidemics in our communities. Also, it is unfortunate that individuals like Akon, Puffy, Lil Wayne, and TI are so cavalier about bringing new life into this all ready troubled world. Their money can buy sex, that’s apparent, but it can not buy peace of mind when their offsprings began to come in contact with the ills of our society. What about AIDS?? He’s having unprotected sex with women he meets while he’s on tour and getting them pregnant. I seriously doubt he’s asking everyone to submit to an AIDS test before having sex with them.
What about common decency though? what about fear of God? What about just realizing that having fractured households strewn across the world is not best for a child?? Doesn’t matter how much he “takes care of them”, he can’t be in 10 different places at once, so why make a child go through that just because you like seeing your progeny one different continents?? The difference being of course, that in Africa most women can’t just go visit their GP and get a pill to take to stop them getting pregnant, or a jab every 3 months to stop them getting knocked up, or an implant once that will work forever. And most guys in the poorest parts of Africa dont tend to go to their local pharmacy to pick up a packet of condoms before going home to tap the wife.
I could say the same thing about a lot of women on welfare who can feed themselves but somehow keep popping out the babies. It seems that a lot of black celebrity men and groupie wannabes suffer the same problems as those poor deprived africans though. Funny aint it.
