FIRST GRANDMOTHER: “GRANDMA IS BEGINNING TO FEEL LEFT OUT”
Marian Robinson, the mother of First Lady Michelle Obama, is beginning to feel left out now that her granddaughters Malia, 11, and Sasha, 8, are getting older.
“… they are at an age now where they’d rather read books or play games with themselves so grandma is beginning to feel left out. I spend a little time with them, but they’re growing up now,” Robinson said on Wednesday while at a summer reading series for some elementary school students in Washington .
All the same, Robinson is more than happy to care for her grandchildren.
“I’m able to take care of my two grandchildren when their mother’s busy and she is pretty busy these days, and I am glad to be taking care of them,” Robinson said. “So my life is wonderful.”
As for her son-in-law, Marian said, “[Barack Obama] still is the hardest working person I know. I sometimes wonder how he does it, and Michelle, but then that’s what it takes to get things done, is hard work.”

I love this family. The make me so proud. Those girls are absolutely beautiful. Little Sasha always looks like she is inspecting everything. Not one who always smiles but is precious. I hope that they are protected to the upmost. And I am so glad to see Grandmother decided to make that move with the First Family. What a gift to be able to give your parents who have worked so hard to help you achieve your goals. God bless them all.

Awwzz…I remember when I was 6 or so, my Grandpa moved in with us and every night between 7-8pm no matter how busy he was, we’d sit down and play Wheel of Fortune and Jeopordy together. Memories.

I am 20 and my grandmother feels the same way. I get an hour long speech if I don’t call her everyday lol.

Please tell me what she says to you to get you to call her everyday. I have one grandson and that is probably the only one that I will have and I can barely hear from him once a month and we are only 50 miles apart. When he visits on long week-ends, we have a great time but I just can’t get him to call and just let me hear his voice. I guess because he’s a boy. Give me a hint and let me try it on him. Thanks.

Grandmothers are the best
My grandmother doesn’t live close to me so we rarely get see eachother. She reminds me of that every time we speak. She also tells me how she misses hearing my voice everyday we don’t talk. That’s what usually get’s me lol.

Grandmas are the best!! I love my Nanny! She raised me & she still is. Thank God my girls have had the chance to grow-up with not only their Grandmothers, but mine too!!
She’s going on vacation with us this year – finally!!! I’ve been trying for the last 10 years!! I’m like a little kid at Christmas!! I cannot wait!!!!
