Yay, it’s about time we get represented in society. Black girls are princesses too.

As much as I would LOVE to support this black business, I can’t because Carol’s Daughter is lying about their products. I purchased some hair products from their store a few months ago and the girl working in the store told me they were “NATURAL” products without chemicals. I went home, read the labels and two of my products had chemicals it them like Phenoxyethanol. Then I found a video online from a sista putting them on blast about chemicals being in some of their products.

There are plenty of other black owned businesses with better products. I know BCK probably delete my comment but it is what it is.

CD is a high as a kite. I found out about them about 3 years ago, and they were cheaper then. But I guess the more people found out about them (including celebs) they raised their prices.

guess I can’t blame them. Why not.

Cute bottles but Carol’s Daughter is a rip off. That stuff doesn’t work at all. Sure, some of their items smell good, but there’s better hair products out there that you can find for cheaper.

Organic/all natural is the way to go. Carol’s Daughter is providing a great service. Maybe the way a product work depends on what you use it in conjunction with…

I thought Brandy was the first for her work in Cinderella?

I thought so too! But the Cinderella re-make that Brandy was in, was not sponsored by the same portion of Disney that is responsible for the “Classics” (like Peter Pan, Bambi, Sleeping Beauty, etc.) Instead is was a Rodgers & Hammerstein adaptation produced by ABC as a part of the revival of “The Wonderful World of Disney” series.
So techinically, this ‘Frog Princess’ will be the first of the African American ‘Disney Princess®’ collection.
I think it’s total BS that the VERY FIRST Black Princess has to be associated with such a “blah” fairy tale as ‘The Princess and the Frog’
Why could we get a prettier story like Snow White did, or Beauty and The Beast?
      Those feel more magical.
The Aladdin princess Jasmin…she rode around on an enchanted carpet and had a Bengal tiger as her childhood pet for Christ’s sake!
All we get is a cute girl who gets turned into a slimy frog. Hardly a story that I would categorize as my favorite fairy tale if I were a little girl.

I totally agree, but I guess it better then no story at all. Maybe in another 20 years their would be a better one with a black prince:)

There will also me some chemical in a commerically made product b/c there have to be something to make the natural ingredients be able to maintain its shelf life. This brings up a whole other problem b/c we tend to bash each other, and yet, we wonder why our children can’t get to see characters or items that are in representation of themselves.

Let’s get and support this movie and this product, b/c I want my child to know that we are to be the best and she can dream and be what her she wants to be. Come guys, just think about look at That’s So Raven compared to Hannah Montana; we have to start supporting anything that has black characters on, so that the people who do the marketing will continue to create products that our children can have self pride and self awareness in.

Huh?…chemicals need to be used in natural products to make them maintain their shelf life? Who told you that?

The only time chemicals are needed to preserve any product with natural oils or butters is when they contain water or cheap ingredients. Natural butters and oils have a long shelf already.
Especially if you make them using natural antioxidants like real vitamin E without chemicals or water.

I will support the movie but I am not going to pay for products from any company just because they are black, using cartoon characters or fancy packaging and celebrities to market it. Two great black owned companies I know of are Eden Body Works and Ebene. They both have great products.
